Thermostat replacement info ?

i'm going to replace my thermostat due to the fact the coolant temperature needle drops at wot under hard acceleration high revs so the dealer thought its caused by a weak thermostat spring that can't hold the stat close or cant close faster enough when water pump work faster as the high revs and a lot of cold water come back from the radiators to the engine block.
This symptoms is more in cold weater that not in summer but is annoying and i don't want it could cause a thermal shock to the engine expecially in winter when the engine work at operation temperature than suddenly cold water cold water throw the block.
Someone knows what is the procedure to remove and replace the stat ?
I hope the work is not too hard or too many parts need to be removed = $$$$$$
Unfortunately i'm not able to do it myself
Thanks

This is an easy job. Just remove the airbox and the left coolant line and it will be right there.

Thank you , Happy to hear that , i was concerned it was an hard job like replace water pump , since the thermostat location is near water pump i thought it needed to remove bumper , exhaust and other hardware ...

That pulley below the thermostat is the water pump. It isn't hard to replace either if you have the right tools.

You will need a 10mm 1/4"drive swivel socket for that bolt you csn hardly see. With that it is simple.

Yes, it's not bad, but there's a pain in the *** bolt head on the underside of the housing. No reason why they put where they did. Juts takes a swivel and patience.

I just did mine. What a pain. You can jam your fingers and just touch the one bolt after is is loose and just back it out. It could not be much harder to get out. If you look down from the top with the other bolts out you can just see it to get the socket on it . It has to the the all in one swivel with the 10mm on it.
