Lightbulb How much should I. . .

My friend Dave has a 2000 C2 hard top (Artic Silver), soft protective cover and storage rack just collecting dust here in San Diego.

He wants me to sell I for him on Ebay. . .

1. How much should start the bidding at (*All three pieces together)?

2. Does anyone have any experience shipping something this big/heavy?

Thanks for all you help...

Paul & Dave

Hi Paul,
I bought a hardtop from Champion last year for my old car. I paid 1K shipped. They used a piano mover to box it up and ship it FWIW.

piano carrier will be the way to go, or see if you can get it on a freight transport.

WHat do you think it weighs?

I have no clue on the weight... I know for a fact that if the buyer was to come and pick it up that Dave would give them a better deal... It just sounds like a pain to try and shiip...

That is why I posted this question, I was hoping that someone might have sold theirs recently and given me some insight...\

I got my hard top on ebay for $100 dollars. No one else bid. It had one small scratch. Shipping was a pain. To get someone to drive over there (In Ca) box it up and ship it to me was around $500. I was lucky and found a friend who knew a mover and brought it to me for $200. But $500 to ship from west coast to east coast is about right I think.

Paul,
I think that $600 is a little more than the market will hold unless you just happen to hit it right. And it seems all the extra tops are in Ca or Fl. Why would you need a top in warm areas. So you see them for sale. Here in the northeast, I plan to use mine oct to march/ april. The ones for sale on ebay aren't usually around here. I did get a great deal on mine. A used car dealer had a few and just wanted them out of his place. My car is lapis, I guess there are not a lot of cabs in this color so lower demand? Thus no one but me even bid. I got lucky.
