Good luck on the pothole thing....Years back, in my Saab, I hit a manhole. They were repaving the street and had taken 3 inches off the street, but the manhole was at the normal height, 3 inches above the surface. Hit it with my frame and ripped the crossmember. $3000 in damage. I payed, then filed a claim with Caltrans who was doing the work. 2 years later i got a check for $3K in the mail without a phone call or a letter, just dropped me a check after they did their investigation.

I got the claim form in the mail Friday. I plan to file with all the info and pics. Then hound them day in and day out for the repair.
Thanks, Bryan
