1963 Porsche 356 B Super 90 Sunroof Coupe (European Model)

Up for sale we have a 1963 Porsche 356 B Super 90 Sunroof Coupe (European Model). This car was originally special order Bali Blue exterior color with tan upholstery with corduroy inserts. Original Super 90 engine equipped with European heating system. Car is obviously disassembled as you can see in the pictures below. This car was purchased by me in 1970, and from 1975 to 1993 was driven daily here in California in the summer and winter months. Although worn, it has the original black plates and the ownership title is still the old "pink" slip. The car was retired in 1993 in order to be restored. Prior damage was revealed and the platform and suspension points have been brought back to factory specs by a respected 356 restoration professional. The floor pan flange areas, front struts, closing panels forward, and front foot well area have been replaced. There is rust in the remaining body panels, and previous damage to the left rear quarter area that still need to be addressed. Several points should be noted, most obviously, the A model full door windows (no vents). When you have a sunroof, you don't need the vent windows plus your vision in tight corners is clearer. There is a starter set of vent style window frames included with this auction (Refer to the pictures below). The window regulators for the full door windows are missing but are included in the vent style window set. Secondly, this car has been modified to be longer in the front and rear (approx. 75mm each). It has enlarged brake vents in the front, and tubular fender braces as well. The rear bumper has been lengthened (notice the 911 bumper molding). The engine compartment has tubular bracing which is covered with a bolt in metal panel. The transaxle is core only, with proper Super 90 gears, but needs ring and pinion. Obviously, everything needs to be reconditioned with the exception of the engine case. It is still torqued with the through bolts and by my measurements is still standard. This engine is in the beginning of the 2nd series of Super 90's and has the 16mm oil pickup, versus the earlier 12mm oil pickup. 16mm started with engine no. 807187 and this engine is 807271 (reference 356 B Supplement Parts Book 1/1A Page 2). Also observe picture of cylinder heads with top head showing cracks between spark plug and valve seat. Major components that are missing include but not limited to the following: crankshaft, flywheel, brake components, A-style door glass regulators, and the rear window which accidentally broke during the photo process. Please check pictures of sunroof parts, inside the metal sunroof, 1 tilt ramp up piece is missing. Otherwise the sunroof is complete. Check out the pictures carefully, everything you see in the pictures is what you get. When this car was tight, it was a wonder to drive. Hopefully some lucky person will get the opportunity to bring this car back to where it belongs. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to ask. If you have any questions please email me at mile2424@aol.com or feel free to call Mark Miletich at 831-247-6878 (cell) or 831-457-2172 (home). $12,500 obo.
