2004 BMW M3 six speed with 22,xxx miles -- SOLD

Year: 2004
Make: BMW
Model: M3
Price: $29500
Mileage: 22800
Color: Carbon black (dark blue metallic)
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): IL
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive

Offered for sale is my beloved 2004 E46 M3 with a six speed manual transmission and only 22,500 miles. I have owned the car for seven years, having bought it with 6,000 miles. The car has been babied and garaged its whole life, and it looks like it. The backseat has virtually never been used. The passenger seat is unoccupied 80-90% of the time. I am a mature 54 year old driver who has had manual transmission cars my whole life. Despite only being driven 2,000-3,000 miles a year, the car has gotten an annual oil change every spring with 10W-60 oil and OEM filter. The only reason it is for sale, is because I test drove a new Cayman, and then a Cayman S, and then a 991. I just came to terms on a 991, so here is a chance to get a like new E46 M3 with proper transmission, beautiful color, and as low mileage as you will find.

The paint is in great shape, having been garaged and regularly waxed all its life. Carbon Black is a very dark blue metallic color, which looks black in some light and only shows hints of blue in certain light. It's a beautiful, understated color. The interior is black leather, with all the usual options, and aluminum trim. Very sharp and elegant. I always put a towel down on the driver's seat if I am wearing jeans, so the leather looks just about perfect.

The battery was replaced less than 1,000 miles ago. Coolant flush and valve adjustment were done about 4,000 miles ago. As with the oil changes every 2,000-3,000 miles, I'd rather over maintain the car than under maintain it. The car has been virtually problem free with the driver's door lock actuator assembly replacement (under $300) being the only out of warrantee issue it has had. The car has never been tracked or autocrossed and is on it's original brakes, clutch, etc. Everything works the way it should. I have receipts and records like any **** car guy should.

A couple of items to note:
A lawn mower scraped the front wheel well a couple of years ago, lightly scraping the wheel and the wheel well. I haven't been able to buff it out with wax, but a professional might be able to. It is very minor and the paint still feels smooth. There is also a ding behind the driver's door, and I wrinkled the inside tailpipe on the right side of the dual twin exhausts while backing into a curb at the new house. It does not in any way impact the car other than being visible. Oh, and the rear tires will need to be replaced soon.

Taking it off the market until I find a 991. I don't think I can delete the thread, but if I can, let me know how.

Back On Market

I have found a good possibility for its replacement, so the M3 is back on the market. Mileage is 22,8xx. I may have an interest in routing a sale through a Porsche dealer, although the car would still come from me.
