Thanks for the initial emails and PMs.
In response to a question that has come up a few times, this engine was produced after the issue with the Nikasil cylinder bore coating was resolved. It is not considered at risk for those failures that had apparently occurred with earlier engines.

I was able to locate the original window sticker and many of the records from the second owner..
Also, while my mother is not looking for any trades, I may be interested. I'm currently in the market for a Mini Cooper S for my son. I personally am interested in finding something fun for me to enjoy on weekends. it would have to be an automatic as knee issues have largely ended my days of driving a manual. I'd obviously add cash on top of the trade for the right car.

Some additional information based on member questions:
Yes, it appears as though all the manuals are present as well as the security radio code (if ever needed), and key number tag.
It has a full size spare in the trunk on another 18" Asteroid wheel (like the ones on the car)
I have not run across the first aid kit that apparently came with the car; or the small tool kit that fits in the cubby under the hood. I've still got a few boxes to look through and will update if I find either.
The last oil service was at approximately 35,800 miles last fall. So about 600 miles ago.
