wow your was dirty. Just took mine out at 17K miles and it was not dirty enough to even order another yet. It does take 3 mins to check/replace. I have to do brake fluid and oil change and re set service reminder this month. Maybe I ll snap some pics too. Good post.

Mark- I just did my oil change and its fairly straight forward. I'll be looking into the brake fluid change this summer.

 

Glad you guys mentioned the oil change. I have the stuff to do mine also. May just go for it in the morning.

I found Durametric to be fairly easy to use as this was my first time having to use it. I literally spent more time getting to the oil filter/drain plug than actually undoing them. If we had a dip stick, I'd use my oil extractor.

 

I didn't think this was worth making a new thread for so I will just leave this here . I changed out the air filter right after the cabin filter, took about an hour or 5 beers start to finish. Fun little project really. Follow the directions provided on insane garage.

 

Just did my oil/filter and brake fluid flush and cabin filter check.

Oil change is a little harder as stated above, things take long to get to.
You do need 36MM socket (oil filter housing) and 8mm allen, which is not correct but it works for oil plug. Get a new crush washer too.
8 /1/2 quarts brought me into the safe zone and a little more should top it off. A pain with no dip stick for sure.
Removing bottom cover the hardest part.

 

What are people using for replacement oil pan plugs ? I've read several times that the factory plugs need tossed when you changed the oil.

 

I use the plugs two/three times. They are soft so care is needed. They are cheap too. I would be afraid of using other plugs as I d rather ruin a plug than strip the oil pan itself.

I've only owned my panamera for a month. But I've always done research and maintenance on my vehicles.

Do you off hand know the part number or thread size of the oil plug ? I figure I should plan to replace it, since I dont know if it's ever been done..... vs. Get in there and need one and not have it.

Anyone using the icarsoft por ii ??

 

Smart. I always keep a new plug handy and decide to use when the old one gives issue during a change. Pelican parts here has them and when I order filter I sometimes get a plug too. At least get the crush ring.

Even with a dipstick you would still have to crawl under and unscrew 25 bolts to get to the oil filter that's located down there. I wish it was located up top like on my mercedes and range rover. They are so easy to oil change with the Mityvac 7201 it's ridiculous.
