CamShaft Recall 17V368000 - may "stall" your engine
Gents (and LAdies),
Check your 970's for recall 17V368000, specially if you've been haunted by camshaft bolt horror stories......I think.
Can someone confirm this recall FINALLY addresses the sheared bolt heads for the camshaft gears that we have all seen, and they did a recall for in China, but not the USA (until now)? Or is this a different item?
My '10 Turbo is connected here to this recall.

I love how Porsche says it "may stall the engine" as a bad outcome. "Stall" = grenade I think?

Just got my letter today. "Parts are being manufactured as a matter of high priority - you can continue to drive your Cayenne or Panamera"
It mentions CEL, engine stalling while driving, audible noises/vibrations. I would assume if there is a major engine failure causing additional damage PCNA will remedy as needed. Fingers crossed.... I'm driving until I get another notification of parts availability.

Can anyone point me in the direction towards registering as an owner so I can get this letter? Mine was not purschased through a Porsche dealer, so I'm pretty sure I'm not on the list. Thanks!

My suggestion is that you visit your local dealership and ensure they put you in their system.

This is about time Porsche addressed this issue. My 2011 Panamera 4S had this failure and I had to replace my entire engine back in the spring of 2015. I had to come out of pocket because my car wasn't CPO'd and I had 64k miles. I filed a complaint with NHTSA and finally got a response back 2 years later that they have opened up a case against Porsche. So after waiting over 2 years, I'm looking forward to getting my money back on the cost to replace my entire engine. I certainly hope the rest of you Porsche owners are spared from that experience and glad we finally saw some action on this issue. Good luck!
