Which intercooler? 996tt
I have searched and found some quality posts from earl3 doing comparisons. However, I'm looking for a setup that does not need modification. So what intercooler would be ideal for my 996tt modified with alpha28/zona turbos with some other beefed up engine items? I don't track the car often but want to be able to take the car on 2-3 hour trips in without worrying about air temps and do some spirited pulls. I've heard ETS, Markski, but was curious if any others out there? Thank you in advance.

I have the Forge intercoolers and they seem to work well with my tune on an X50 car, street and hard track use. However i have no comparison. I have taken them on and off several times and they seem to be well built and do not have any leaking issues.

There is some good stuff out there but also lots of junk. Do your research and see what people that really drive the hell out of these cars are using. Pretty much anything works at cars and coffee, not so much at the race track. Good luck.

My car isn't super high horsepower, but it is close to 550awhp. At my last dyno tune the tuner mentioned my IC temps were too high which is holding him back from feeling comfortable with more power. That's why I'm looking for better IC. I currently have 8+ year old evoms from the prior owner. To be honest I've never been to a cars and coffee. I'd like something that can perform on the track if I wanted, knowing it will primarily used for street driving.

He said he doesn't want to mod his shrouds. I'd give Markski a call about these. https://www.markskituning.com/produc...nk-connection/

Which Markski IC's did you purchase? What mods are on your car and how do you use your car (normal driving, track days, etc)?

Our V3 Clubsport intercoolers were purpose-built for cars running Alpha 28s making between 650-800hp. The cores and end tanks are substantially improved over what are probably our first or second generation intercoolers you have now, meaning they flow and cool the air charge much more efficiently than the older parts.
This comparison is as good as any at showing their capability and consistency. These runs were done with a 996TT equipped with our GT775 kit (Alpha 28s, upgraded fuel system, full bolt-ons for intake and exhaust including these intercoolers). 93oct pump gas, 1.55bar, 4th gear pulls from 2000-7000rpm on a Mustang dyno repeated as quickly as we could do the pull and stop the dyno (about 1min apart, ~17sec at WOT). 660whp and three runs within 7whp and 19wtq.
I have another local GT750 car that upgraded from the V1 to V3 intercoolers, and his 1/2mi speeds have improved by 4-5mph after the swap (from low 160s to high 160s in 90F weather). The Joe Toth intercooler scoops make a huge difference as well.
The V3 coolers are compatible with your existing boost hoses, and I would be willing to offer some killer pricing if you're upgrading from an older version of our parts. Shoot me an email at sstone@evoms.com to discuss that if you're interested.

I run Sams 4.5" ByDesign intercoolers. Great product and the modifications necessary to fit are not bad at all. And man do they COOL! Building a good foundation for my k16 Billets when I get them.
