Farewell 997.2 TTS...welcome 991.1 GT3
Never thought the day would come when I would sell the TTS but that day came! Traded in the TTS for a 2016 GT3 w/ 2,700 miles (highly optioned with an MSRP $175K). Long story short, I am on the list for a 991.2 GT3 (PDK) and was expecting a Spring 2018 delivery. My SA called to inform me that my Spring 2018 delivery was moved back to Oct/Nov 2018 . Rather than wait a whole year, I decided to buy a 991.1 GT3 now and re-purpose my .2 GT3 allocation for a MY2019 991.2 GT3RS (if Porsche builds it).
The TTS was/is an amazing car and I would like to thank all 6Speeders on the 997 Turbo / GT2 forum, from whom I learned more about our amazing cars than I ever thought possible. I won't be far, I'll be in the GT3 forum (here and on Rennlist) and will continue to pop in the 997 turbo section...once a forced induction guy, always a forced induction guy (even if I strayed over to the NA side...for a while)!
Gone but never forgotten + new GT3...my kids call her "Nemo"

Congrats! I sold my .1 GT3 a couple months ago in anticipation of my .2 GT3 showing up early next year. You are going to love it. Such an amazing machine. It is so much more of an event to drive than a turbo, regardless of the extra power. The sound is just sensational. Enjoy it!

Wow. Nice Turbo S! I’m sure that wasn’t an easy decision but that GT3 is total nicies.
Btw - those BBS Wheels on the Turbo set that car off sooooooo right. Only Wheels I would opt to swap out on my Turbo.

Congrats, I am doing the same. Selling 991TT and getting a .1 GT3.
Can’t wait to hear your impressions as you drive it more.

Congrats on the new purchase! Did you pick up that stunning 2016 GT3RS in UV from Porsche of North Olmstead?
Edit- oops, I just noticed that one went to NJ but not to you.

Thank you sir!
Thanks SeattleTurbo. Your view is shared by many, myself included. With the 100K engine warranty, the .1 GT3 is the perfect track weapon. It's characteristics are fabulous to begin with but the warranty makes it a 'no brainer' for some spirited fun driving at the track.

The TTS was amazing at VIR last year, it was my first time there and my PB was a 2:10. I'm hoping to run a sub 2:10 in the GT3! I will definitely provide driver impressions between the TTS and the GT3...be on the lookout for a thread on it when I get back. They are both incredible cars!

I'll see you on RL brother...the GT3 forum there appears to be more active than the GT3 forum here on 6Speed!

miss the torque?
I have been lurking for a GT car but worried that I will miss the torque blast of the TT. Has that been an issue at all for you?
I suppose one has to acknowledge that they are very different weapons and just be honest with what attributes mean the most.
The GT cars obviously do much better at resale. Nice car you have and that .2 GT3 incoming will be yet another upgrade for sure.
