2003 E39 BMW M5 in Carbon Black

Year: 2003
Make: BMW
Model: M5
Price: $20000
Mileage: 136000
Color: Carbon Black
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): NY
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive

My father is relinquishing his 993, so it's time to sell my beast before my move to California. It has 136k miles, a manual transmission, and it drives phenomenally well. I bought the car two years ago with 128k miles, and it has never caused me any trouble.

The car pulls smoothly, quietly, and eagerly to redline. It is planted, calm, and confident at absurd speeds. The clutch shows no sign of wear, and does not slip at wide-open throttle in any gear. 1st and 2nd gear are a bit notchy, but improve noticeably when the car is warmed up. Shifting is otherwise smooth and assured. Everything works on the car, including the AC, sunroof, all lights, mirror motors, auto dimmers. It wears a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports with less than 3,000 miles on them.

The car starts in all conditions, does not overheat, and electronics are working well. The computer throws no codes, and has never thrown any code besides tire pressure and bulb-out warnings. I had a PPI done at Bimmers Only, and everything they found has been disclosed. Engine compression and leakdown numbers:

1 - 215psi 2%
2 - 220psi 1%
3 - 217psi 4%
4 - 213psi 4%
5 - 214psi 2%
6 - 210psi 2%
7 - 212psi 2%
8 - 215psi 3%

Paint looks great, though there is a prominent scratch on the trunk lid and some chips and blemishes up front and on some wheels. The only issue I'm aware of is a seeping power steering hose.

The only modifications to the car is to the pedals, the lighting, and window tint from the previous owner. The HID headlights with "angel eyes" are factory, but the other bulbs in the car are LEDs. The color temps match, and it looks modern without looking cheap.

It has the premium sound option, which includes a factory subwoofer in the trunk. The car comes with an aftermarket iPod hookup that plugs into the CD changer in the trunk. The stereo sounds rich and full, without being boomy or rattly. The subwoofer is elevated, and does not encroach on trunk space.

Car is located in Pawling NY and is currently registered and insured in my name with a clean Connecticut title.
