Back into 997.1

I thought I was over the 6 speed MT car but the driver involvement was just not there in the newer cars with the dual clutch autos. Not to mention I missed my Mezger engine. I went from a V8 R8 to a V10 R8 plus to a 2016 Turbo S. I am happy to be back in an 09 Turbo MT car. Just need to do some changes to make it mine now. GMG exhaust(need to find one), tune and a new clutch will be on soon.

Thanks guys. Got a chance to drive it some more this weekend and I didn't realize how much I missed shifting gears. It may sound funny but coming back from a new 991 Turbo S this car feels so small and analog. Very happy with my decision.

Just sold my 997.1T MT. Was thinking of an R8 or Lambo also. This thread isn't helping me.

Regardless, welcome back.

I have a R8 and a 360, I find myself driving the 997.1 more. All 3 have different experiences. Maybe its because the P car is MT and Turbo?

All 3 are awesome cars, I'm fortunate to be able to have all.

elite1......The R8 and Lambo are great cars too. Not knocking them too hard and the R8s I had were both very fun. They get a lot of attention is probably the biggest downside. The V10 screams with an exhaust so it's hard not to keep the rpms way up all the time...hahaha. I missed the Porsche so I went back to a new Turbo S but for me it was a lot of money to have tied up in a car. Although it was probably the most beautiful car I have ever had, I found myself not driving it. It was vey easy to drive fast but was not engaging. Compared to the 997.1, the R8 and the new Turbo S had a very plush ride and felt bigger. I am glad I had a chance to have the other cars but for now the 997.1tt fits what I am looking for. Good luck with whatever you go with.

Thanks guys for the welcome back too.

I'll have to take some with the good camera. I only have some crappy cell phone pics right now. The blue one in my avatar is my new one though.

Welcome back, I have gotten the itch to sell before and move to a dual clutch car , but I see many people coming back for the exact same reason you did.

I am not saying anything bad about a PDK or another dual clutch.....they are awesome, but just not as engaging as a MT car. I will tell you that the s-tronic in my R8Plus was more fun to drive in manual than the PDK in the Turbo S. Coming back to the 997.1tt though feels just like home!

Thanks for the welcome. Here are some pics but not good ones will have to do that in a couple of weeks. Also a pic of the options that came on the car.
