2008 V8V Roadster - Barrett Jackson
24,000 mile Sport Shift hammered at $55,000. Add in the BP and that's $60,500. I think alot of dealers would be happy to get that result. Look at the drivers seat.

Saw that yesterday. I watch every minute of the auction every year. Record it then stay up to watch. Mecum just had one in Florida that they broadcast on Youtube. I like Barrett as very few cars have a reserve. Mecum only seemed to sell about every 6th car.
Very interesting difference in American vs European auctions.

There is a psychological reason for auctions. The hype, the crowd, the auctioneers babbling and the beer. Getting caught up in just one more bid. Before you know it you bought a car for more than it’s worth.

are you implying that this 2008 vantage is not worth $60k?

Worth is a tricky question, but that's about $10k over the typical sale price for a 4.3 SS Roadster with over 20,000 miles

Yes
With commission (10 %I believe) the cost to the buyer was 66K. IMHO this is a private sale. No inspection by a AM dealer.
This is not a dealer sale, there is no warranty. The car has 20 K plus miles.

Barrett-Jackson
I love watching Barrett-Jackson and have actually been once. It's not the place to go for a deal unless maybe day 1. There's just way too much hype. It was interesting to see what a car close to mine would bring there.

I think most people that love cars like watching Mecum and BJ. Someday I'd love to hit the Scottsdale sale just for S&G's, looks like a fun way to spend a few days, and hopefully not see something you just have to have because you'll spend more than days LOL
Mecum, the norm is reserve and watching the dealmakers do their thing is half the fun, but too many cars do just roll across the block more for sellers dreaming fantasy, and since you pay for the slot Mecum lets them. I do like that BJ is almost exclusively no reserve.

I researching the purchase of a 2009-2010 Vantage V8 Roadster and watched this car go on the block live. My first thought after the sale was that price seemed high for a 2008, especially without a PPI and such. However, I don't know how much information the seller provides at one of these auctions. It may have had a very thorough service history, new clutch, etc. but it made me wonder if the atmosphere had more to do with that price.

if you are looking for an 09-10 with 6sp manual, good luck as they made very few. For a 09 coupe manual, AM told me that they only made around 400 and only about 70 of them were left hand drive and shipped to North America.

I would like a manual but it looks like that will be hard to find although... my wife says she may want to drive whatever I get and cannot drive a stick. Help me out here guys finding a stick! Just kidding she is very supportive of my long held desire to purchase an Aston Martin and I will teach her if need be.
