Advice on purchasing a 2014 Audi R8 v10 for 75k with total loss history

Hello fellow 6speeders I am looking at a 2014 R8 v10 with 39k miles asking price is 75k. Issue is after running the Carfax history shows a total loss reported June of last year as well as an accident report in may of this year. The seller has been upfront with me and sent a few pics of the damage before the total see below. There is however a story involved where as you can see the initial collision should not have warranted a total loss however after a body shop stole bits and Pieces the total was granted. My issue is first of all the title is still showing clear. Which I am baffled from.Seller says it is because he didn’t register it after repairs It’s in New York I have a feeling if I try to register here in Georgia I will run into some problems. Also I was not planning on keeping this car for over 2years unless I simply fell in love with it. Any feedback is appreciated I am sure you guys have way more experience than me in these matters. Just how much of a loss can I excpect to take if ever I need to resell this thing, would you guys simply run,or is it worth the gamble? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thnx

PS: I was in he process of getting a PPI performed when I found out about the

Initial damage

accident history.

I wouldn't do it either. Will probably be a bigger headache than it's worth. So many clean title cars you get at that pricepoint. I sold my V10 6MT R8 with a clean title close to that.

No way Jose’
$75k isn’t chump change, and marketability on a “supercar” is next to nill on a total loss car.

Agreed with all of the above. First, $75K is far, far too much for that car with that history. Second, you will have a very difficult time when you attempt to sell. There are so many V10 R8s with clean history for just a little more than that.

It’s a $25k discount for the sketchy history, doesn’t really seem all that unreasonable. I’m certainly not buying it, but it doesn’t seem like a terrible price

Ditto, and add to that resale will never happen if you decide you do not want it.

If not gonna keep it, it will be a headache later on. It should also have a salvage NYS title, before you have issues elsewhere. To register you'll have to have it inspected if it wasn't done prior.
