how to quiet the door hinges?

My door hinges creak - both on drivers and pass. sides. Dealer says don't spray lube on them - not the way to go. Its the one in the middle that makes the noise seemingly at full open. Super cheap sound/feel for such a well engineered vehicle. Its my 3rd 911 so I understand it happens on all of them, but it makes a bad impression w/passengers. Any tricks to quiet the hinge? Car is 19 months with 18k mi.

Thanks,
DRP

Don't know why dealers won't use a spray lube. Have you tried a shot of WD40?

I am in the same camp. My last car had the same creak/groan in the door hinges. I tried white lithium grease and it didn’t work. My car was just at the dealer and I asked him to lubricate the doors. When I got the car back it’s still makes the same noise. I’m interested to know if anybody finds a cure.

Porsche has new updated hinges!

I brought it to the dealer’s attention after I saw them on Suncoast’s website. Updated plastics.

They were here installed under warranty - car is like new. The whole car! Not just the doors (just kidding - but it makes a huge physiological impact to have silent door hinges)

get em me if you need them

on my 2012.5 991.1 (lots of decimals LOL) the hinges were quiet for 3+ yrs on my drivers door and never made noise on the pass side. With my 2017 it took about 12-14 months and they literally sounded like an old car on both sides.

it feels like a new car now.

Guards_red_991 is an unknown quantity at this point
I have sanded and polished mine to a very smooth surface. No more squeaks.
