Pan Hybrid Charging - Charging station

I have 2016 Pan Hybrid. I currently use a chargepoint system at work for 4 hrs free. it takes a little over 2 Hrs to charge my car @ 3.6 kW, and the charge point automatically suspends the charge after its full 7.2 kW. I only see 12 Miles full charge on the computer. Sometimes I see 14 miles. I thought it is 16 miles per spec for electric. hmm???

I am planning to install 6 gauge wire / 50A Circuit breaker at the main panel, 40A breaker at the charger. Do you have any feedback or experience with these systems below?
1. ChargePoint Home WiFi Enabled Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger - Level 2 EVSE, 240 Volt, 32 Amp Electric Car Charger, UL Listed, Energy Star Certified, Hardwired Station, Indoor or Outdoor, 25 ft. Cable
2. JuiceBox Pro 40 Smart Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station with WiFi - 40 amp Level 2 EVSE, 24-foot cable, NEMA 14-50 plug, UL and Energy Star Certified, Indoor / Outdoor Use

Greatly appreciate for your input.

Thanks

how and where you drive will also effect how many miles the computer calculates as the range, Los Altos isn't exactly flat :-)

indicated range from car computer 12 miles. right after, i drive I see 11 miles I don't think I drive even 1 mile around the block of the building. may be I have a AC-on and auto setting 69. Cold weather 49 outside. Lately, bay area weather is rainy and cold , air from Canada. LOL ... What's the range of your car when it is full?
I will definitely bring my car into Porsche Fletcher Jones Fremont to have them check it out. I will update you all what I learn from them.

I have a 2017 Chevrolet Volt -- the range on battery drops dramatically (50% when at 15F) in colder weather mainly due to two items:
1. use of battery power for cabin heat
2. Li batteries lose some capacity when cold

Range returns to normal when weather warms back up.

I doubt you have a problem -- just a fact of life for a PHEV.

Doug, let us know what you hear from your dealer. On my '16 pseh, i have never done better than 13 miles (indicated), and currently sit at 11 indicated all the time. put the steering wheel heat and seat heater on and it goes down pretty fast from there.
if the dealer finds an issue with yours, i likely have the same issue...

My wife's PSeH has reached 50K miles. My observation over this past year is that the indicated e-range has never varied beyond 11-14. Which is pretty much where it was when we bought it new.

Hi Doug,

I'm a staff writer for InsideEVs, and review charging stations for electric vehicles. We recently posted our Ultimate Buyers Guide to 240-volt charging stations. The JuiceBox Pro 40 was our top pick, so you're on the right track. The ChargePoint Home was #3. Either of these will serve you fine, however the JuiceBox can provide higher-power (might be useful in the future if you get an EV that can accept more power), it has more smart-charging features like power-sharing, and you can limit the power rate from your app if you want. It also has a better outdoor rating (NEMA 4 vs NEMA 3) plus it costs less. It's really the best choice on the market today, in my opinion, and I have all of them. Coincidently, eMotorWerks has a $30.00 off special this week for Valentine's Day. Good luck!

Thank Ace10. long distance driving, I saw a computer indicated 14 miles. Today, I charged at work, the charge point system indicated 7.73 kWh, 12 miles. I should have no worries ...

Thank you, Tom. That's a great buyer guide you provided. We have few people at work using Juicebox @ home and they are super happy with the charger. We have Charge Point at work, I am Ok with it, 3.6 kWh on my PAN4. I will go with Juicebox Pro 40.

An update about the possible degradation of battery or energy leaking, I brought my PAN hybrid to Porsche fremont Fletcher Jones to diagnose the battery charging system. Why do I only have 11 mile after full charge of 7.4kWh and the car drops 1 mile after i drive about 400 ft?
Gunter the Service manager did a system scan of the hybrid and gather the data. There are no active faults in the system, but they see charge terminated due to short because of water in the charge port may be. We had so much rain last few days in the bay area. So Gunter will do some analysis and let me know next week and probably keep my car there. Today is Friday they are behind. So there is no reason to leave my there and drive a loaner till they start a debug process on Monday.

No answer yet from Porsche. Will update again.
