996tt faster in reverse vs 1st gear?
I just picked up my 2003 996tt from the shop today, after having the following work done:
1.) Transmission complete rebuild w/ same gear ratios
2.) RS clutch
3.) LMFW Aluminum
4.) BBI clutch slave conversion
5.) 997 short shifter & shifter cables
6.) Semi-solid engine mountsi
7.) Semi-solid transmission mount
8.) New wheel bearings
When I went to drive it, reverse felt a lot faster than before and faster than first gear. I took it back to the shop and sure enough, after my mechanic gave a strange look, he confirmed that the car was 1mph faster in reverse than 1st gear. The guy that rebuilt the transmission was also at the shop and was unable to figure out why this was happening.
Has as anyone experienced this when changing out the dual mass fly wheel? Any thoughts? It just does not make mechanical sense.
Items 4 through 8 are not in question, but included to capture the whole job.
