Lost panamera key fob - get a replacement?

Oh boy, I lost my 2016 Pan Hybrid key. I have been looking for it hard for 3 wks now. I am using the 2nd key fob and ready to get Key fob replacement from https://www.sonnenporscheoemparts.com/

https://www.sonnenporscheoemparts.com/oem-parts/porsche-handheld-transmitter-97063794710]Handheld Transmitter Part Number: 970-637-947-10 Remove $183.38

Sonnenporsche confirms the key fob with the key cut for my VIN number. The only thing left is to get reprogram at the http://i.viglink.com/?key=67dd7173560d3bab82bde3b3da28ac8d&insertId=066 c2b7aa026a75f&type=H&exp=60%3ACI1C55A%3A13&libId=j uijuc1001000axn000TAj2g4cikk&loc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww .6speedonline.com%2Fforums%2Fpanamera%2F430544-lost-panamera-key-fob-get-replacement.html&v=1&iid=066c2b7aa026a75f&opt=true &out=https%3A%2F%2Frover.ebay.com%2Frover%2F1%2F71 1-53200-19255-0%2F1%3Ftoolid%3D10029%26campid%3DCAMPAIGNID%26cus tomid%3DCUSTOMID%26catId%3D220%26type%3D2%26ext%3D 123705863399%26item%3D123705863399&ref=https%3A%2F %2Fwww.6speedonline.com%2Fforums%2Fsearch.php%3Fse archid%3D19900941%26pp%3D25%26page%3D2&title=Lost% 20panamera%20key%20fob%20-%20get%20a%20replacement%3F%20-%206SpeedOnline%20-%20Porsche%20Forum%20and%20Luxury%20Car%20Resource &txt=%3Cspan%3EPorsche%20%3C%2Fspan%3E%3Cspan%3Ede aler%3C%2Fspan%3E]Porsche dealer. I called a few auto locksmiths in the SF bay area, they quoted me an outrageous price to get a key fob replacement.

Any experience to get the key fob replacement? I just tied a tile on my 2nd key fob.

You do need to get the key re-programmed when you buy it. I saw a lot of articles explaining how to do it, but none successful. Ultimately, I had to buy a key from my dealer, prove I owned the car, and then they configured it. In the end it still turned out cheaper than most of the other options (~250 key + programming IIRC)

Good info. I was meaning to add one more key to my key collection. When I do, I will surely look here. At one time saw a place where the keys could be bought based on PN and VIN, but regardless of where, next step was always go to dealer to get it programmed. My suspicions are need PIWIS2 for reprogramming.

Please keep in mind, local Porsche dealer will not provide the programming service if the key is not from their parts department. So you have to tell them the key is not working ... big risk ...
Buy the key from your local Porsche and have them programming the key. That's best option.

Check all your jacket pockets, especially the jackets hanging in your closet.

Thank you Or. yes, I did exactly what you suggested. Review my security nest camera, LOL . The Porsche dealer already ordered the key, 250 key fob+ 125 programming and 10% off total, No cancelation. I have attached tile to Key pouch now. LOL ...

That's too expensive !!! You may try Bellevue or Portland ... I finally paid $350 for my keyfob. Surprisingly, it took 1 wks to order the key, 10min to program the key, the actual time the tech worked on my car for $100.

Thanks. Which dealership did you buy from? I’ll call Bellevue tomorrow.

I am in the SF bay area, I am using Fletcher Jone Porsche of Fremont, there are 4 Porsche dealers near me, 2 in SF and 2 in east bay. Sonnen Porsche is the lowest price by $50, but it is in a busy freeway 101 to SF Golden Gate.
You need to have your local porsche dealer to do key and programming, they are the best options and lowest price compared with 3rd party.

that’s not my experience, I got my key from a Lamborghini dealer that sells and works on used Porsche. The fob was cheap from them, but it still had to be programmed at Porsche which was not cheap. All they needed was the VIN

go to your porsche dealer and tell them that the key is not working. They may program it for you for $125.

I called Bellevue Porsche today. Key is $285. Don’t know cost of programming yet. Will call again tomorrow. Thanks for all responses.

Programming charge is $110. I’ll get one on 5/4/19. Thanks for all responses.

This whole thing is such a hassle. Same position as OP: 2016 Panamera e-hybrid bought CPO but only a single key was offered by dealer.

Got the correct part for my VIN: 970.637.947.10

Anywhere from $265 - $295 unless you get it online where most have been discounted to about $185 - but your dealer isn't going to honor that number.

I have a quote for programming of $120 from a reputable Porsche place.
