2019 Pana 4 loner experience
So IM quite comfy in my 2014 4S and my dealer called me today telling me if I brought my car in today vs Monday for service he could give me a 19 P4 as a loaner so of course I jumped at the opportunity.
Drove it for about 25 minutes so far and its not as quick as my 4S, the touch screens are a pain to find stuff. I should have it for a good 4 more days so I will update as I acclimate.
Where is the auto stop shut off???

I brought my wife 2016 PAN4 to FJ dealer for gas flap hinge warranty work. Since I have 3 Porsches service at Flecher Jones and they are very nice to me. I got a loaner for 2 days, a fully loaded PAN4S, Red interior, Lane Departure and adaptive cruise control options. The car is $132K on the sticker. Funny, I feel a little lag when I step hard on the gas pedal. The Porsche exhaust sounds great, unfortunately this car has thermal insulated glass so I can't hear it. LOL ... My 2016 PAN Hybrid I feel it quicker no lag when i accelerate it.
The drive is FANTASTIC ... this is 2018 PAN next-generation car. it has all new updated electronic display and new engine. It is unfair to compare it with 2016 Panamera. I would get 2018 Hybrid, it accelerates quicker. No need to buy new, 2018 CPO Pan Hybrid is $84K now in the bay area since the bay area is TESLA capital ...
Have fun and enjoy it with 2018 PAN4S ...

My take: I do not like the interior and exterior on the new cars. The drive is great but can't handle the "narrow" look vs. the wider 970 and as Bobby mentioned, those controls are a pain and I feel this is especially an issue for the older crowd not used to all the tech in a car.

Got out for a quick romp in it last night, it eats pavement like a dream but you have to really hammer on it in manual shift mode and sport. A couple 6k shifts but its still way behind my 2014 4s with sprint booster. Very nicely appointed inside for sure and and sweet exhaust note but as indicated by Doug you need a window open to appreciate it. I guess once you spent a few weeks learning the endless menus you would finally set them and then forget how to get back to them lol. I have an event to go to today so Im looking forward to more time in it.

So put another 1.5 hours in the car and while its very nice inside I have to call its performance pedestrian at best. Its more of a luxury sedan than a performance sedan. If your not looking for very spirited driving and have a short budget for a new Pan then this might be a good fit for you. If your used to previous gen performance skip the base 4.

I agreed with Bobby's comment about 2018 PAN4. The 2018 PAN4 is nicer inside, a little more HP and Torque and less busy in display and buttons.
2018 Pan 4s is a different machine, very powerful performance 440 HP, Torque is 405. PAN 4 Hybrid is 457 HP and instant torque like Tesla ....
