Background
Up for sale is my 2007 Lotus Exige S with 35,xxx miles. I originally intended to use this car as my base vehicle to K-Swap. After realizing how few Exige’s have a clean history and are also in stock form, I decided it would be smarter to use an Elise / cheaper Exige / already modified example for a K-Swap.

Interior Description
When I got the car, I immediately began going through and fixing the myriad of small cosmetic annoyances. As many know, the interior plastics are quite cheap, nuts and bolts tend to rust, hardware goes missing, etc. The whole interior was pulled apart, deep cleaned, and every piece of hardware I could find was replaced with either zinc plated or 12.9 hardened alloy steel variants from Bolt Depot. This was an extremely tedious process as it required going on to Lotus Parts Online and deciphering all the various parts numbers so the right sized hardware was ordered. I have a ton of brand-new leftovers I will include in the sale if the new owner wishes.

At this time, I also replaced the seats, brackets, and harnesses with brand new Tillet B6 Screamer seats (driver and passenger), Tillett EB4 fixed brackets (the expensive ones), and SCHROTH 4-point camlock 3” harnesses. These seats are extremely light, super comfortable, and fit a wide range of body types. They are commonly regarded as the go-to option for these cars.

The cheap plastic center console was removed for aesthetics and because it’s just plain terrible but will be included in the sale. The only other interior modification is a Pioneer flip out head unit with Bluetooth and backup camera. The previous owner installed this, and it functions fine, but otherwise I have no specific details on it and only use it for the backup camera feature and iPhone charging cable. I have never connected my phone or turned on the radio to listen to music for more than 10 seconds. Yes, when you flip out the screen it hits the windshield stalk like every other car that installs this unit.

Behind the seats you will generally find a plastic tray that covers the aluminum tub and pieces underneath the rear window. It also houses the rear speakers. I removed this piece (all the speak wiring is still intact) because it is a known piece that rubs and squeaks to holy hell. I also personally like seeing the exposed aluminum rather than ugly molded plastic. Should the next owner want to reinstall it, they are widely available online in new and used condition and quite cheap. It is fixed in place with a few plastic rivets.

The car also has Inokinetic floor mats and billet aluminum caps to hold them in place.

There is no major wear and tear on the interior to note. There are some normal scratches on the floorboards but nothing major. No cracks in the dashboard or large blemishes to speak of. The door cards are in good shape but could use a few new pieces of Velcro towards the bottom where the OEM pieces have lost some of their stick.

Exterior Description
The exterior is completely stock besides Toyo R888R on the OEM wheels, which are nearly brand new with less than 800 miles on them. When I purchased the car I had my detailer do a stage 1 correction and coating which took approximately 10 hours. I have been using the same detailer for 5 years and they’re the only one to touch my cars (TTR8, 430 Scud, ACR-E, R32 GTR, and Chevy Avalanche to name a few). The paint is in overall good condition with some minor exceptions which I will detail to the best of my ability. The glass all around, especially the windshield, are in great shape. If I were to harshly rate the exterior it would be an 8/10 compared to the other examples I have seen which usually show a lot of track damage.

Engine / Drivetrain Description
The car will not pass CA smog in its current form
. I still have the OEM headers and exhaust that came on the car when I purchased it. If you want to register the vehicle in CA I will help you arrange to have the exhaust swapped back to factory for minimal cost to you. The headers and midpipe are completely catless, made by PPE and sourced from Monkey Wrench. I’m told the current lead time is 12 weeks. The fit and finish is superb, and they installed with no issues at all. During installation, we fitted new studs, gaskets, and hardware. From the header back, I had a completely custom T304 stainless exhaust fabricated by Race Factory in Campbell CA. We trimmed the aluminum vent panel with rubber molding for an OEM+ look where the tip exits the rear. Custom hangers were added at all the OEM mounting locations, so it bolts up like stock. I personally wanted to run the car completely catless and straight piped – which makes the car sound absolutely insane above 5k RPM. It is louder than any straight piped NA Ferrari I’ve ever heard. I haven’t measured, but I would estimate it over 130+ decibels at WOT. If that isn’t your cup of tea, I’ve got a brand-new Vibrant muffler that I will have installed prior to delivering the car. The exhaust was built with this addition in mind, but we wanted to test the vehicle completely straight piped before muffling anything. It’s truly just as absurd as you can imagine. Transmission is totally stock. Suspension is totally stock (has the factory adjustable Bilstein coilovers). There are no clutch or engine modifications to mention.

Garage is full and I have two new (to me) cars are arriving over the next 3-6 weeks. Will keep at this price for about 2 weeks and then it'll go to a dealership down south, thanks!

Exhaust is being swapped back to stock on Tuesday - so car will be completely factory for those who are were concerned with smog. For those that aren't, the exhaust system and headers will be for sale 😁
