It’s actually not bad at all with the satin centers. Pads must not dust a lot but it’s not been near as bad as some other cars I’ve had.

Beautiful R8. Can you share some more details about the maual conversion (is it all OE parts, how much of the transmission is swapped, was it originally a DCT, etc)? Also, do you happen to have the OE exhaust? If not, how loud is the Capristo? Do you have maintenance records? Curious how the upkeep costs compare to a 911. My wife and I are debating swapping our 991.2 convertible for an open top gated r8 . Feel free to PM if you'd prefer.
Thanks,
Josh

I do not have the oem exhaust. This exhaust is pretty loud with the valves open. Quieter than oem with the valves closed. The controller when replaced would allow you to switch the valves with a button. Unfortunately the mount came off and that fell onto the exhaust from the previous owner so I just disconnected it. But a new one from capristo and you can just plug it in. Right now with a vaccuum line you can manually swap it between closed and open.
I have all the maintenance records. This car has just had the fluids changed, new brakes, new tires, and is turn key. Further, the ac compressor has already been replaced which is a notorious engine out fix. Otherwise, these cars are super reliable. They have the reliable 5.2L V10 and the manual transmission removes the rtronic complexities. My guess would be nothing but oil changes for the next 20-30k at least, but stuff can always pop up. I’d think about on par with the porsche maintenance as tires, brakes, and oil changes still aren’t cheap.
I’ll PM you the maintenance records. Thanks!
