Does anyone else find the new layout a bit hard on the eyes?

 

I agree. I hope they have further refinements planned. Why are the ads on the left now? Kills the browsing experience...

 

No access to PM's on the 'home' page is a huge frustration, you have to click in to a thread to get to them., also all the text being this light grey/blue color makes everything blend together and hard to read through quickly. I hope this is just the 'testing out' phase.

 

Isn't there a link to pm's above the sponsor links?

 

IMO, it's a step forward....

 

If you are already in the thread yes... but, for example, hit the 'new posts' tab... no PM's there if you are browsing from outside any particular thread. Not a huge deal but just one of a number of annoyances I'd like to see fixed that the "old" layout did for us.

 

Look-wise it has improved, although I'm not sure about the ads on the left. The only thing that bother me a little is the fact that the header of the site starts again on the right. So next to the car I see "LUXUR.." again (with just a 19" 1400x900). That's the only disturbing thing.

I agree that the ads on the left is annoying. It means that on a small monitor, posts get cut off on the right side, necessitating scrolling horizontally to see them.

 

If you make your browser window narrower, all the threads disappear. Well, they all get pushed to the bottom of the page.

 

If you have a look at "Your Notifications" in the top left of the screen, it should be there

What browser are you using by chance?
I have been unable to replicate it with the most common browser variants.

When signing in w/ explorer you see the banner at the top & the ads on the left side, you have to scroll down quite a ways to see the first message. W/ safari everything is like it should be.

 

Yup, on this mini 15" monitor, I have a listing of ads on the left that i have to scroll all the way down a good couple of feet before I even see the first post. VERY Annoying!!!!

 

We thought we had rectified this yesterday with IE - sorry.
