Where'd the sponsors links go?

The list of supporting vendors usually viewed on the right side of the forum webpages seems to have disappeared? Is there a reason or is there something wrong with my computer?

GT3 Chuck Oct 24, 2010 05:56 PM

New format...probably preferred by the new owners...the vendor directory is still there

I like it. I also like the cleaner look of the header. Hated the cheesy Veyron/Murci drawings. Much better format overall.

Some of the links at the top are not displaying correctly on my Mac with Firefox 3.6.1. Still needs some work.

PTParks Oct 25, 2010 04:04 AM

Not a good idea.

Well, if we get a new vendor on the forum somebody better post a notice because we won't know unless you scan the vendor page looking for new additions. It was easy to spot a new forum supporter just by scanning the logos on the side of the webpage. I doubt the supporters like having their business links disappearing from view.

How happy can the vendors (many of whom are of the highest quality, and most respectable supporters of the community) be about being "disappeared" from the pages? This very bad business. What are the vendors paying for? The equivalent of a Craig's List entry ? Very bad.

Hey everyone,

A couple of things.

Thanks for pointing out the changes, we appreciate that, but I need to make one point abundantly clear.

We would never even entertain the idea of changing the appearance of YOUR site, without first consulting with the community, and secondly without letting the mods know of the potential for change, and a timeline to go along with it.

There is an issue, as of yet undiagnosed that is causing these current changes.

We are working to remedy the issue currently.

Thank you for your patience.

cheers,
robb

Well, it's good to know that the forum subscribers would be asked about an potential changes to the website. Thanks for the update and I/we hope the fix goes smoothly.

GT3 Chuck Oct 25, 2010 11:24 AM

as you can see the sponsor banners are back

alex55 Oct 25, 2010 11:42 AM

Will they chance the pic with the bugatti and the lambo too?! I personally hope so!

Hey everyone,

If the community would like a new header/footer, we can definitely arrange to have this done.

cheers,
robb

yes please

It would have to be something generic that does not favor any one particular model or manufacturer (I think Porsche is very particular how a likeness of their products are used).

Robb M. Oct 25, 2010 04:37 PM

^^ this is true. We pretty much need to avoid using anything from that particular manufacturer ;)
