It’s that time of year again, and if you really want a true blessing, please show up and or contribute to this event. Meeting: Toys R US 3609 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie - (504) 455-9513 Time: around 11:30 AM Saturday, December 17th Rain or Shine We’ll have an hour to shop. Or if you have already purchased your toys bring them with you and meet us when we leave at 12:30PM. Kent with A-1 Appliance is providing a truck in case we cannot fit all the toys in the cars. But please bring your cars, this is what the kids want to see. I will have a follow-up e-mail about what kinds of toys to can give to the kids. Departing: Toys R US at 12:30PM Route to Children’s Hospital Make a u turn on vets to Causeway, Causeway to River Road, then take a right on Henry Clay. Meeting at Children’s Hospital for 1:00PM 200 Henry Clay Avenue New Orleans, LA 70118 (504)899-9511 We’ll meet in front under the drive thru on Henry Clay Ave. We’ll unload and distribute toys ourselves to each child in the hospital. They rotate floors so we will be giving to every child on our assigned floor. Any toys left over will be stored and handed out by Santa Claus on Christmas day. Children’s Hospital car show will start at 1:30PM(Display Only) At 1:30PM the kids will be able to come down stairs and take pictures with the cars. We will display the cars from 1:30 till 3 PM. At 3:00PM we can all go to a local restaurant and eat. We can decide when we start to leave as to where we want to go. Unwrapped, new toys are collected and sorted, and each hospital department comes to “shop” for toys for their patients. Every child admitted during the holiday season will receive a toy. Any extra toys will be given to children at the hospital throughout the year. Donations for Santa’s Workshop will be accepted November 30 – December 23 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Delivery Instructions: Upon your arrival to Children’s Hospital, a staff member will meet your group in the main lobby to accept your donation. If, on the day of your visit, you realize you are going to be late, please call the Development Department at (504) 896-9375.
