996 HID Conversion Kit - DIY
1 Attachment(s)
I recently bought a Super Slim HID conversion kit from ebay. I thought I would share what I did to make it happen. Easy job, so here it is.
Any questions, let me know. Attachment 90315 Ken |

Does it matter which way the bulb goes in? Because my right headlight is much brighter than my left one.

Did you get any problems running the ballast inside the headlight unit? Are the slim-line balasts CAN-BUS compatible. Any problems at all with this setup? Thanks
|
Very nice write-up. I initially had mine installed like this but changed the set-up a little. With everything inside the housing, there was too much heat. I had the lights on for 15 minutes in the parking lot, removed the ballast and all from inside the housing and it has literally burning hot. I'm not sure how much heat these can take. So what I did was relocate everything to the outside of the housing. I drilled a hole in the center of the housing back cover and relocated everything to the backside of the headlight housing and stuck the ballast onto the outside of it. So far its been fine.

Thanks for the info, another project for me to tackle.
