engine noise through the speakers
Recently had a pioneer AVIC 130 installed in my 08'GT2, have been having the engine noise through the speakers which grows louder as the revs climb. It is intermittent though, which means the dreaded 'cant replicate your problem'. The installer says that it is due to my light weight braille battery. He says its because the battery does not hold a enough charge all the time and so when its low you will get the engine noise. Others say that is BS, its due to bad wiring and grounding.:mad:
Any input from those who have more knowledge and experience with this will be appreciated. |
Anyone, bueller, anyone?

Sounds like interference coming from the ignition system. Perhaps picked up from the antenna or a unshielded signal wire.

usually thats due to a bad ground probably in your speaker wiring or speaker

So is there a fix for this? |
Well like cannonball said, it could be an intermittent grounding problem from a loose connection, not impossible.

Spoke to the installer again. He said that porsches are notorious for causing these odd problems with speaker noise. So he thinks that swapping out the new amp will fix it. I hope he is right, it is really annoying when it occurs.
Thanks again for all the input. |
Near impossible problem to fix in the porsche....i'm pretty good with electronics and have tried EVERTHING possible to get all the noise out, but to no avail. It is the only car i've ever put a system in that I can't get quiet. However by adjusting the gains on the amps(new jbl x3) and the head unit you can reduce the noise to a level below the music threshold to make it bearable....good luck !

I had this problem with my 08 cayman s with aftermarket kenwood head unit and jl audio amp. A new set of av cables fixed the problem.
