spring or c/o...money is an issue

Hi.

996tt daily driver.....nice interior...aspirations are moderate: white PCA DE's only....no racing or black/red (solo though, yes)...

Have CG locks....are they enough. Can I customize (cut) stock, heated seats to let a 6 point or 5 point be used?
Anyone know a shop that can do such?

On suspension, I don't want to go "really low" but I want to get the benefit of much metter stuff: thinking the vivid package with jic's/rear H&R for ~3600 dollars. Seems fair.... Do you need to do the front sway? Many don't. Many do. I am confused.

Tires...it comes down to getting a used set of hollows (anyone have some for sale....black/grey/stock?) and R888's I think.

Finally, anyone have a harness bar and bose that can be taken in and out FAST...no hours but say 20 minutes?

Thanks!

Cheaper is better.

Jeff

Scott in Tampa is infamous around these parts
No on the seats. For PCA the seats must must be manufactured that way.

You do not need the front sway initially. When you are ready to go to black/red solo, then you should consider the front sway.

As mentioned you cannot modify the seats so just stick with the stock belts or go racing seats plus harness bar and harnesses. Trying to keep a back seat and put kids back there is going to be a huge feat.

I figure get the set of sways....to do the corner/etc. once well....

I'll stay stock seats with cg locks for now..and perhaps try RichardCH's "seat mod" with the foam...might make it more "cup like"....

And pads...

Thank you Heavy! Apparently, certain seat companies will make to a leather color..you just need to get the leather....

if you haven't had the car on the track yet, take it the way it is. it will be faster than you'll be able to drive it. Wait to make changes so you will be able to tell the difference the parts make...

Thanks. Did VIR for 3 days...got to 158mph and probably 6-8/10ths per some better drivers there........issues were:

1. TIRES....TIRES..TIRES...but I have to drive to and from the track (have conti sportcontact 2's and was told to go PS2..bigger (N2) and or used wheels and R888's at some point, but not too soon so I can learn and "hear" the tires better).

2. Sliding around...got CG locks and I am happy for now...got in the instructors car with 6point...wow. I have always thought the stock seating was too loose for such a car.

3. Wobble in the car...lean...some is the stock suspension and some is me not being smooth at 105mph is the ascending S's. Guy in front of my in his/her GT3 almost lost it and it distracted me (newbie me...). Learned that lesson well...focus and use your own line.

Thanks.

JB

JCB, got a set of CCW wheels (www.ccwheels.com) and Toyo RA1's for under $3k. I uses these to drive to and from the track no problem. When the RA1's wear out I will try out the Toyo R888's. I also swap out my brake pads for each track day to a set of Performance Friction PF97's. I have also used Padgid Yellows too and either works great.

I used stock pads and street tires, PS2's until I got up to solo.

Have fun and drive safe!
Mike
