Synthetic Motor Oil VS Petroleum Based Motor Oils
 

Did you know that some so-called "synthetic " motor oils are not synthetic at all?

Conventional motor oil is made up of an inconsistent mixture of long and short chains of hydrocarbon atoms. In the extreme heat of an engine, short-chain molecules can evaporate and unstable molecules can oxidize and break down. Conventional oils also contain much greater amounts of impurities, such as sulfur, reactive and unstable hydrocarbons and other undesirable contaminants.

True synthetic motor oils incorporate high-performance fluids, including polyalphaolefins (PAOs), along with proprietary system additives. Synthetic oils also use a combination of synthetic fluids and selected additives in order to tailor the viscosity grade to its intended use.

Although synthetic motor oils will cost you more, this additional expense is easily offset by the benefits associated with them.

Synthetic oils are inherently more slippery and reduce friction better than conventional oils, reducing engine wear and allowing your engine to perform better. It's been proven through independent testing that synthetic motor oils increase horsepower and torque as well as reducing operating temperatures. Another added benefit is that synthetic motor oils do not break down like conventional oils. This allows for less frequent oil changes. In the tests we review products from Mobile 1 and Royal Purple seemed to perform the best.

In the long run using synthetic motor oils will save you money and time.

I'm soooo confused. First you lead off with a statement saying that some synthetics are not completely synthetic at all with no further reference to this allegation. You speak to the structure of conventional and true synthetic oils but nothing that corroborates your initial statement.
Then you speak to an article and then have no reference to it. No reprint or URL. It would have been interesting had you done so.
