Fixing Curbed Rims w/ Dremel tools
Fixing Curbed Rims w/ Dremel tools
Hey guys I curbed my Work rims the other day while squeezing into out of a parking spot in Laguna and I want to fix it myself since I have a Dremel tool in my garage.
Have any of you guys tried to fix it yourself with a Dremel before?
If so, which bits or accessories for the Dremel should I pick up to perform the repair?

curb rash
If they are polished aluminum not a problem.
Polishing aluminum is really simple. Start with a 180 grit sand paper, move to a 240 then up to 400. Add polish (with a dremel if you want) and whoalla...polished aluminum.
Keep in mind that it is a skill to get it down right. For a little curb rash its a DIY job (assuming that you have 1-2 hours to spend on it making it look good.
Or take it to an aluminum polishing shop and they will make it look perfect for not much $$$

Which Work's do you have, are they stepped or cast?
I slightly curbed my old Volks (forged) and repaired using a dremel and all the standard attachments it came with.
My wheels were powdercoated white, so after I smoothed the rash I did a few coats using auto touch up paint and applied a clear coat. Worked like a charm.
