Imagine a venue virtually flowing over with excitement-inducing BMW models from the past as well as the present…as an automotive enthusiast, this would probably spark your interest, would it not? On February 25, BMW of Manhattan hosted an exclusive BMW Car Club of America event that drew the attention of car aficionados smitten with the style and grace exuded by this automaker’s legendary design philosophy, and at the heart of it all was a dazzling 1988 E30 M3 sitting on sultry Rennen Motorsport MV6 wheels. This was not the only classic-esque Bimmer to be strutting its stuff at the event – alongside the E30 was a gorgeous 1993 850Ci, an M6 Competition Edition (one of 100) and a wrapped i8 in an eye-popping Fire Orange hue.

The ’88 E30 sitting quite aggressively on Rennen’s MV6 three-piece forged rims wasn’t just about the flash, though. A formidable s52 motor, swapped out of an E36, roared to alarming life when the ignition was turned over, a testament to the power bubbling beneath the sexy hood, while a custom Borla exhaust and intake, headers and full tuneup overhaul lurked within the chassis to complement the E30 M3’s brawn. The aforementioned aggressive stance of the car was achieved courtesy of custom-valved Koni/Eibach coilovers, which also assists with aerodynamics and handling.
Getting to the unmistakable wheels this gorgeous classic BMW was wearing at theCar Club event, Rennen engineers really outdid themselves with these MV6 three-piece 6061-T6 forged masterpieces. In coming across the perfect combination of a classic car design and modern true directional wheel approach – even including a reverse face mount steplip – Rennen rose to the challenge of enabling this BMW E30 to stand out amidst a sea of older luxury vehicles boasting aftermarket wheels. Geared towards motorsports, the company’s new line of lightweight forged MV rims proved to be an excellent fit for the most victorious race car throughout the “Supertouring era,” their brushed face and high-polish steplip injecting a heightened sense of seriousness to a most lusted-after BMW model.

Finishing off the Rennen E30 M3 on display at the BMW Car Club of America event was an eye-popping Heannarot paint scheme, making this particularly-colored E30one of the rarest and most sought-after by car enthusiasts. An enticing mix of red and orange, Heannarot makes the E30 appear shiny orange when viewed in the sun and red when seen in shadier conditions.

The custom-made Rennen MV6 three-piece 6061-T6 forged wheels on the throwback 1988 E30 M3 proved to be a perfect mate for this most timeless of automobiles, but this is no surprise coming from Rennen, an aftermarket wheel manufacturer renowned for offering only the most premium of automotive products. Rennen’s products are so advanced, in fact, that they utilize materials used in aerospace manufacturing technology, yielding wheels that are not only extremely durable but overtly lightweight.
