Something Wicked this Way Comes: Audi R8 on Rennen Forged D14s
What Audi has done with its super-sultry and overtly seductive R8 sports car is remarkable – indeed, with the introduction of one exotic-esque vehicle, the automaker has turned the ultra-luxury sports coupe market on its proverbial ear, giving buyers who would normally look at wildly esoteric brands another unique choice. In a nutshell, the R8 wouldn’t leave any self-respecting exotic car enthusiast and buyer feeling uninspired.
Call it what you will…a deep-seeded desire to always change what is, a passion for making a statement…but most red-blooded car enthusiasts simply can’t leave a vehicle in its factory “stock” configuration for long – even if that vehicle is the sexy two-seat, mid-engine Audi R8. Enter the owner of this gorgeous R8, who, instead of going the garden variety route of outrageous custom paint jobs and over-the-top, scraping-the-pavement body kits, decided to keep it simple and classy when customizing his awesome Audi.

This R8’s rebirth began with the addition of a Prior Design Aerodynamic Kit, immediately providing a more aggressive stance and appearance while improving upon the car’s aerodynamic characteristics, and which was painted white to match the Audi’s factory exterior hue. In a nod to its quality, the kit is made from a premium Fiberglass-Duraflex fusion material, characterized by a flawless surface finish that provides sufficient flexibility and high stability.

As one’s eyes make their way down the curvaceous, nearly flirtatious body lines of the Audi R8, there’s no denying the sheer magnetism exuded by the vehicle’s wheels – in this case those wheels come in the form of the brand-new Rennen Forged D14s, which are 14-spoke true directional rims that happen to suit the personality of the Audi perfectly. In the front, a super-aggressive 20 x 9 offset gives the R8 a menacing, don’t-mess-with-me stance, while out back a staggered 20 x 11.5 size contributes to the hunkered-down, race-ready appearance. And, like any beautiful cover model, the svelte, perfectly toned lines are complimented by an equally-gorgeous face; in the matter of the D14s, they sit proudly on the R8 showing off their stuff in high-polished silver brushed form, while high-polished lips finish off the effect.

Every Rennen Forged wheel starts life as a Grade A 6061-T6 aluminum billet, cut and put into a 10,000-ton forging press, the result of which is the 6061 aluminum material with a completely refined grain structure that allows the wheels to be both lightweight and extremely durable. And, if these kinds of materials are used mainly in aerospace manufacturing to attain the highest levels of tolerance and quality control, you know Rennen is cranking out some seriously strong and long-lasting wheels.

Yes, they are directional wheels.
