Ferrari Build Glorious P80-C for One Lucky Customer
Unique P80/C is a custom Ferrari like none other.
A very precious prancing horse
There are rare Ferraris, and then there is this: the P80/C. Built for one very special (and wealthy) Ferrari customer, this is the ultimate evolution of the company's 488 platform. The car is a true track day special, like none other before it. You can look, but won't even find head- or taillights anywhere on the car.
Added length for stability
Ferrari's engineers had a fantastic base to evolve this bespoke special from, the 488. What they did to make it into this P80/C for starters was to stretch the chassis by 1.9-inches. That might not sound like much, but at the speeds that this Ferrari is capable of, the additional length does positively influence the vehicle's stability.

Taming the air it speeds through
Ferrari possesses some of the most talented aerodynamic specialists in the world, and some of their best work is on display with the P80/C. The car's rear end is dominated by intricate fixed aerodynamics. There are a huge decklid spoiler and a massive rear diffuser, which work together to provide tremendous levels of downforce at speed.

Mind the kerbs
Viewed from the front, the P80/C's unique aerodynamic bits are even more evident. Where you'd expect to find headlights, are aero ducts, which channel air through to a concave hood. The front splitter is also impossibly low, something which could never work on a street-legal road car.

Packaged for power and balance
Mounted midships is Ferrari's 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 powerplant. For this one-off private track car, it boasts 660hp. The engine is also covered by a tubular x-brace, which improves the car's rigidity even more by sharpening-up agility and handling responsiveness. It will steer quicker than you can think, behind the wheel.

A cockpit made to purpose, not comfort
Inside, the P80/C is no place to try and pair your Smartphone... or seek any other creature comforts. This is a cockpit made for racing and racing only. The steering wheel only has side-grips and all controls are concerned with engine, suspension and brake functions - instead of infotainment.

An all-carbon marvel
Although most of the P80/C is finished in classic Ferrari Rosso red, the car's surfacing is entirely made of carbon fiber. The owner wished for the dominant front and rear aerodynamic bits to be left in beautiful unfinished carbon. Liberal use of the materials means it is terrifically light for its size, weighing only 2,778 lbs.

A truly special tribute car
Although the owner's identity remains a secret, his motivation has been clarified by the good people at Ferrari. The desire behind the build was to pay homage to the company's brilliant racing concept cars of the past. Of those concepts, most notably the Ferrari 330 P3/P4 and Dino 206 S. A novel feature of the P80/C is the fact that it comes with two wheelsets: an 18-inch and 21-inch option, the latter intended to make the car's appearance more fluid.
