Lamborghini Begins Countach LPI 800-4 Deliveries For The US
The famous Italian marque chose the beautiful setting of Monterey Car Week to deliver the very first Countach units for US clients.
Legend of the Countach
The original Lamborghini Countach was an instant classic since its first introduction in 1974. The mid-engine supercar's popularity only grew throughout the late '70s and '80s, with the legendary model's long production running coming to a close in 1990. The instantly-recognizable design of the Lambo would go on to inspire future generations of the brand's cars. Unsurprisingly.

Retro Inspired
There was some skepticism when Lamborghini revealed plans to revive the ultra-popular nameplate. Unveiling the retro-inspired design silenced many doubters. Some are still displeased with the fact that the new flagship Lamborghini is based on the Aventador's platform. It's tough to hate on such a beautiful machine, though, if you ask us.
V12 Power
The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is powered by the brand's famous naturally aspirated screamer of a V12 engine. The gas-powered mill is aided by a 48-volt electric motor that accompanies the gearbox, enhancing the power that is delivered to the wheels. The number 800 in the name is a hint at the car's power output of 803 horses. And the number 4 indicates the presence of the 4-wheel-drive system.
Paying Homage
The car's interior styling is a thing of beauty as well. Perhaps even more so than the exterior. A fabulous space to spend time in, the cabin is designed with all the modern tech one would expect from a multi-million dollar Lamborghini. It also pays homage to its legendary namesake.
Last of an Era
We can't think of a better setting for the buyers of the first few Countach LPI 800-4s to take delivery of their brand-new cars than in the shadow of the world-renowned Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance. With a price tag of $2 million dollars, all 112 units of the new Countach being built were reserved within a few days. This flagship product will likely represent the last of the naturally-aspirated V12 era for the Italian brand.
