Lamborghini Huracan Pushes 1,000HP

Slideshow: For us speed-obsessed folks, not even a stock Lamborghini Huracan is fast enough. So we'll gladly take this 1,000 hp example, thank you very much.

Lofty Expectations

For most folks, a stock Lamborghini Huracan is fast enough. But obviously, we aren't most folks. We prefer our horsepower output to cover four digits whenever possible. And as we see from this Super Street feature, Sheepey Race is more than happy to meet those expectations.

Starting Small

The story behind the builder of this monster, Alex Soto, is every bit as interesting as the car itself. Soto, otherwise known as Sheepey, has been building cars for a long time. But he originally made a name for himself with various wild Hondas.

Moving on Up

Over the years, Sheepey became a big name in the Honda, and eventually Lancer Evolution aftermarket. But once the man behind the brand decided he wanted to take the next big move, he knew he'd need to conjure up a project based on a high-end exotic.

Boosted Goals

Sheepey first developed a titanium-valved exhaust system for the Huracan. Then, they moved on to designing a turbo kit that was both reliable and top-notch in terms of quality and power delivery.

Best of the Best

That system ultimately consisted of Xona Rotor turbos, dual Turbosmart 45mm wastegates, 50mm Raceport blow-off valves, a Syvecs plug-and-play management system, and Injector Dynamics' ID1300 injectors.

Lofty Output

This carefully selected combination of parts certainly didn't disappoint in the power department. Once on the dyno, their Huracan pumped out 800 hp at the wheels on 91-octane and jumped to well over 1,000 ponies on race fuel.

Shedding Heat

Turbos are notorious for generating a ton of heat, so Sheepey took extra measures to keep the whole system cool and reliable. They used CSF's 1,000hp, air-to-water intercooler cores and heat exchangers, which were ceramic coated for extra heat-shedding power.

Sleepy Appearances

Even better, Sheepey resisted the urge to affix a bunch of gaudy exterior parts to this Huracan and kept it looking rather subdued and classy. Matte white is a great choice for a sleeper too, though we're not sure you could ever call a Lambo that.

Small Upgrades

There are a couple of upgrades that are noticeable from the outside, of course. Things like an RSC carbon lip, Novitec coilovers, and Toyo R888R tires wrapped around 19-inch wheels.

Next Step

Since its completion, the crew at Sheepey have put several thousand trouble-free miles on their Huracan. So at this point, it's safe to say that they've effectively taken the next step in the world of speed shops!
