Super Trofeo Evo2

With the introduction of the Huracan Super Trofeo Evo2, the legendary Italian mark has given us a look into the future of Lamborghini. The newest race car is designed for the brand's own racing series. It is the successor to the Huracan Trofeo Evo, and it features completely new styling and aerodynamics.

Collaborative Effort

It's always great to see the engineers and stylists collaborate directly in the creation of a vehicle. And this race car is a perfect example of such cooperation. While every panel and feature on the new Super Trofeo Evo2 is designed with functionality in mind, the Centro Stile has been crucial in adding a significant amount of attitude to the Lamborghini.

An Evolution in Style

A few new styling features can be seen around the new racer, which according to the manufacturer, provide a peek into the future of the brand's styling DNA. The front face of the Trofeo Evo2 is an enhancement of the Huracan's current look, with an even angrier look, courtesy of the thinner headlights and floating side panels. And let's not forget the massive front wing, beautifully integrated into the design of the front end.

Ode to the Countach

The wide body kit gets even more interesting towards the back of the Lambo. Here's another beautiful example of functional styling, with the rear quarter panel transitioning into a floating fin, directing air past the rear wheels. Aside from the exaggerated aero elements at the rear, the most prominent feature has to the the taillights, designed into a shape that is clearly inspired by the Countach.

5.2-Liter V10

In terms of the power source, the Evo2 maintains the Huracan's screaming 5.2-liter V10. The engine has been tuned for this application for an output of 620 horsepower. The V10 is mated to an X-Trac 6-speed sequential transmission. Deceleration is almost as important as acceleration in a race car, and the Lamborghini engineers have given the Evo2 a massive upgrade in the braking department as well.

In Competition

The new race car is taking part in the second round of the 2021 season. The North American division is expected to switch over to the Evo2 for the 2022 season. The price of admission for a complete race car starts at approximately $305,000. Through owners can also buy the kit to retrofit their previous generation cars to the Evo2 specifications.
