Movie car Blitz

Current James Bond titular star Daniel Craig is about to make one last appearance as the ass-kicking, suave, British secret agent 007 in the upcoming film No Time to Die. As Craig sets off to pass the double-oh torch to his replacement, director Cary Joji Fukunaga is making sure he goes out with a bang. Part of Fukunaga's send-off includes a blitz of Bond vehicles to be featured in the film from none other than Bond's longtime trusted automaker, Aston Martin. From the classic Connery driven DB5 to the new upcoming mid-engine Valhalla hypercar. Take a look at what Aston Martin has in store for Craig's ride off into the sunset as James Bond.

DB5

The 1964 release of Goldfinger introduced moviegoers to a new Bond car sourced from British luxury automaker Aston Martin called the DB5. Use of the Aston Martin DB5 marked the start of a decade-spanning relationship between the Bond films and Aston Martin. The two-door grand tourer came dressed in a distinct silver birch color and featured a 4.0-liter Inline-6 good for roughly 282 horsepower and 288 lb-ft of torque. No Time to Die will be the eighth Bond film to feature the DB5 when it releases next year.

V8 Vantage

Next up is the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Featured in the 1987 film The Living Daylights, the V8 Vantage was dubbed Britain's first supercar at the time of its introduction. The V8 Vantage features a 5.3-liter 8-cylinder motor good for 403 horsepower. For Bond, the vehicle came equipped with several gadgets including missiles, heads-up display, retractable skis, tire spikes, radio scanner, and a self-destruct mode.

DBS Superleggera

Fast-forwarding a few model years, the current-generation Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is also set to make an appearance in the upcoming No Time to Die. The Superleggera features a twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter V-12 engine good for 715 horsepower and a 0-60 time of 3.2 seconds.

Valhalla

Last, but certainly not least, on the list of Bond cars in the upcoming film No Time to Die is the Aston Martin Valhalla. Valhalla is one of three upcoming mid-engine hypercars from Aston Martin. Designed in collaboration with Red Bull Racing, Valhalla will be powered by a combination of high-efficiency, high-output turbocharged V6 petrol engine, and battery-electric hybrid system. Its low-slung, aerodynamic design exudes a perfect balance of elegance and power most suitable for a British secret agent.

Coming Soon...

Daniel Craig's departure as James Bond marks the end of an era for the 007 franchise. The next installments will certainly be exciting, but will Aston Martin remain the preferred vehicle for the next double-oh? It is unclear at this point. Given the inclusion of four different Aston Martin vehicles in the upcoming film, there will certainly be enough chases and action scenes to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. It will be interesting to see how Aston Martin will help Craig's Bond draw his story to a conclusion. No Time to Die releases early April 2020.
