Flying Spur blends classic and contemporary details

Meet the third-generation Bentley Flying Spur, a brute of a British limousine. Like all Bentleys, the new Flying Spur has as its mission the ultimate blend of automotive luxury and storming performance. This is a limousine for those who prefer to drive, instead of being driven.

Paying homage to the past

Befitting for a Bentley four-door, this is a car of immense presence. It also pays respect to the original 1957 S1 Flying Spur, by having a modernized interpretation of that car's grille slats. It is a substantial chunk of shaped metal, with a curb mass of 5368lb.

You need to inch-up

The shape is elegant and simple, without any spoiling design details. Two wheel options are on offer, but you really want the larger 22-inch rims, which sit with confidence in those arches and does justice to the Flying Spur's side profile.

Past counts for more than present

Hood ornaments have gone out of fashion, as engineers prioritize aerodynamics over brand history. But not Bentley. Some hood jewelry is a non-negotiable for the crew from Crewe and as such, this new Flying Spur has a proudly flying-B hood ornament.

Daytime LEDs - powered by nature

Paired headlamps are a feature of modern Bentleys and this new one adds some flair to that design. Even when these headlights are not illuminated, they will sparkle, thanks to intricate chrome accents inside their structure - which amplify and reflect ambient light.

Fine hide and wood inside

The cabin can be optioned with 15 different leather trim colors. A multitude of wood veneers is on offer too. Everything is made by hand, offering exemplary quality. Quilted leather seats promise phenomenal comfort, no matter the duration of your journey.

No bench in the back

True to its purpose as a dedicated limousine, the Flying Spur only seats two rear passengers, each in their own individual comfort. These seats feature heating, ventilation and a massage function, which is what Flying Spur owners would expect - at the very least.

Old school touches - but new school tunes

The Flying Spur retains old-world charm with its analog clock, but infotainment capability features the very latest in audio technology. Supplied by Naim, there is 19-speaker orchestra-quality sound system, which powers up to 2200-watts of sound.

A limousine with deep lungs and long legs

It might be heavy and built of exceptional materials, but this new Flying Spur is not slow. At all. Powered by a 6-liter turbocharged W12 engine, it runs 0-60mph in only 3.7 seconds and runs a true top speed of 207mph. With that W12 engine boosting 626hp, those performance numbers are hardly surprising.
