Porsche 911 by Gemballa is a Dreamy Track Car

Zero Games

Gemballa is playing zero games with the return of their new 911, but that doesn’t mean the numbers are small. Dubbed the GTR 8XX Evo-R, the reimagination of the classic 911 turbo gets a power boost to a neck-cranking 807 horsepower and 810 lb-ft of torque. The torque upgrade is what really impresses here as the car will move off the line faster than these flat-6 missiles already do. More power than anything Porsche is offering on sale right now. Performance Figures

60mph comes up in 2.38 seconds and 124 is served up moments later at 7.5. These are staggering numbers that put this car in line with some of the fastest supercars on sale today. Gemballa has always swung for the fences and despite their rocky history, it seems they are back in full form with this creation. The numbers are due in part to where the Evo-R produces peak torque—3,920rpm. It’s very plausible from a standstill, this car produces over 450 or 500 lb-ft from the moment you step on the gas in 1st gear.

Typical Exterior

Looking like rivets in a fighter jet, the bolt-on fenders of this Porsche create a rugged and tough look that stands out from miles away. Even in a subdued blue, the car is still very 'in your face' with aggressive styling and a massive rear wing. Some carbon fiber is utilized in the design as well to reduce weight and increase performance. Though it’s more likely that the increase in speed comes from the extra horses under the hood than any significant reduction in body weight. It’s a nice aesthetic touch and is adding to the imposing nature of this brute.

Top Speed

Things get really interesting when Gemballa reveals the top speed of this all-new spec’d out 911. Without breaking a sweat, it will chug along to a top speed of 230mph, which puts this Porsche 9 miles ahead of most of today's supercars. These cars have always been known to look the part and perform above the rest. It’s part of what makes them so appealing.

Unknown Factors

The suspension modifications haven’t been disclosed, and neither is the price as of yet. But these things are almost guaranteed to go for 40-50% more than the regular Turbo S 911 they are built around. With a short dip in releasing cars, it would seem the powerhouse from Leonberg is back and smashing down new barriers on the latest and greatest 911s. Loud, brash, fast, and mean, this is everything a 911 should be.
