Forget Tea Time
If you gave the queen a ride in this you would be excommunicated. Aston Martin’s aren’t supposed to be sideways on gravel. They’re not supposed to backfire and shoot flames that could burn your knickers. Makela Auto Tuning (the shop responsible for this debauchery) doesn’t give a damn about any of that and built this car anyway.

Extensive Modification
Everything has been improved to the nth degree to ensure this car makes it to the end of some of the most grueling rally stages on the planet. An FIA legal roll cage keeps the driver safe while a massive skid plate stops any damage to the underbody from jumps and curb hopping. Rally cars have to be tough so there’s no doubt every inch of the factory Aston was combed over in preparation.

Not as Crazy as You Think
Taking an Aston Martin rally racing probably sounds crazy at first. When you stop to consider the things a rally car needs: suspension travel, a strong chassis, good shocks, etc. there’s no good reason why a modern Aston wouldn’t fit the bill. Chassis are strong and the engine is more likely to need to be restricted than to be wound out. It’s a great platform to start with!

GT4 Noise
GT4 is the class this car competes in and the noise the cars make in this category is outstanding. It should be noted this category produces the least amount of power while placing a huge emphasis on driver ability, strategy, and car setup. It’s a true drivers class but that doesn’t mean this car isn’t as serious as the team campaigning it. It sounds like an absolute animal with burbles and pops on every downshift.

Why take an Aston Martin rally racing? Because you can! It doesn’t make any sense, but that didn’t stop them and the result is a wildly entertaining car to watch. And at the end of the day isn’t that why any of us watch car racing to begin with? Until next time…
