Superformance C2 Corvette Grand Sport Is One Brutal Beauty
Unless you've got serious stacks of cash, you'll probably never own an original Grand Sport racer, but Superformance has the next best thing.
Next Best Thing
Ask any Corvette fan what their idea of the holy grail is, and a large percentage will probably tell you it's the original Grand Sport racer. But only a very select few will ever experience the joy of actually owning this amazing machine, largely because only five were built. Thankfully, Superformance has stepped in to fill that void and give anyone with the means a shot at owning one of the coolest cars ever produced.

Corporate Bureaucracy
Superformance produces a series of replicas of some of the coolest cars in history already, so it makes sense that they'd add the C2 Grand Sport to that outstanding lineup. After all, this car is a big piece of Corvette lore, a machine that Zora Arkus-Duntov dreamed up himself, only to see his dream crushed under the weight of corporate bureaucracy.

Serious Kit
The original Grand Sport was, of course, a purpose-built racer. Superformance's replica is no doubt a capable machine as well, but also something you can tool around in on public roads. It all starts out with a complete factory-assembled rolling chassis, with an independent front and rear suspension featuring Bilstein shocks and H&R springs. Four-wheel vented disc brakes help slow the whole thing down in a hurry.

Comfy Cruiser
But make no mistake - this is no track-only machine. It features a host of nice options including air conditioning, power windows, and even civilized rack and pinion steering. Not to mention some comfy-looking seats. Those looking for an open-air experience can even opt for a roadster version with a removable roof. But if you want to go racing in one, you can opt to leave all the niceties out.

Plethora of Options
Superformance offers three different color options for the exterior of the Grand Sport - Admiral Blue, Black, and Cadillac Fire Mist. Custom paint is also available if you want to really stand out. And if you'd like to add stripes to any of these colors, you can do that as well. If you do opt for them, the stripes are laid down as the first color coat on the body, which creates a nice, smooth finish.

Plenty of Choices
The five original Grand Sports utilized a series of engine options, and the replica is no different. Superformance offers a modern version of the original all-aluminum 377 cubic-inch small block that utilized a Weber cross ram intake. In the new guise, the lightweight V8 comes equipped with 48mm Webers. Or, you can choose from seven other engine options ranging from the 350 HP ZZ4 iron small block to the all-aluminum supercharged and fuel-injected LS9.

Proper Bargain
These gorgeous Superformance Grand Sports certainly don't come cheap, though price largely depends on the options you go for. But they're still guaranteed to be a proper bargain compared to the millions it'd take to score an original GS. So if you've ever dreamed of owning this holy grail of Corvettes, at least you've got a shot.
