Three pedal fans rejoice, the Stingray Corvette won’t be the only GM car that gets a proper transmission! Earlier this year, news broke that GM was possibly considering a manual for the Chevy SS, GM’s newest super saloon brought over from Australia.

The SS is essentially just a rebadged Holden Commadore, and many fans of the original Australian flavor were quite upset when GM announced that the launch version would not be receiving a manual. Now however, after listening to all the moaning and groaning from the enthusiast community, GM has bowed to the weight and for next year’s car, the SS will receive a manual trans. Not only that, the SS will also get the Corvette’s fabulous Magnetic ride option.

The Holden has always been one of those cars we enthusiasts crave for, and it took a lot of….well, a lot of balls for GM to actually bring it over since when they did it last time with the Pontiac G8, it didn’t go that well and dropped it after only a few years.

Hopefully, with these two new options the car will sell better than its predecessor. Especially when the future of Holden’s performance division, HSV, is still undecided, and GM has been considering bringing the in-house tuners to help with the SS and other GM products.
