SharkWerks Picks up Kermit MKII 09 PDK 997S
Quite a few updates now... for one thing she's in the 2009 TechArt calendar all decked out but for those of you that haven't seen (and hear heh...) Dan whipped up a video over the last few days showing all of these mods in the flesh and more importantly the sound of our exhaust that we've settled on (it'll be out very shortly!):

Thanks RobertM and that's a tough question and I'll do my best here... Is it quicker than I could ever be in a 6speed? Absolutely. Is it easier to drive? You bet. Is it as much fun as the 6speed in the RS? Probably not. I think if you look at it from the stand point of having replaced the tiptronic then it's come on leaps and bounds. If you want a 6speed for reasons like it being more involving, satisfying etc... then stay with that. Hope that helps!
I had a chance to ride in the car with Alex yesterday and having had my 09 CS2 PDK for 2 months now, there is a noticable difference in a more aggresive exhaust sound as well as well as a tad more pull when accelerating.
I'm hoping we got the right mix/blend for the majority of folks!
Just an FYI folks, we installed our muffler bypass system on another local car yesterday and I know you folks wanted more pix etc....

Looks neat, why did you guys go with straight pipes instead of an x-pipe?
What are the power gains over stock? Any dynos yet?
Power gains over an x-pipe?
Sound levels and back-pressure compared to an x-pipe?

Hey seven_227, thanks for the kind words. In fact, one day two of ownership we built an x-pipe but a few things made us decide to go a different way. But in basic terms, 1) It was honestly too quiet (think the the x-over area as a resonator), 2) It created a hot-spot 3) It didn't flow as well as a straighter through design and there's a reason why Porsche kept their center muffler to two separate banks. The lower pipe is right after the header/cat and is supposed to go into the center muffler (and u-bend which I believe we have improved upon) and feed the two side mufflers. By crossing over that far upstream if you will we were worried we'd actually hamper flow/hp. Would have been neat had it worked (was certainly a bit cheaper/easier for us to make). 4) We looked at the stock routing and decided not to mess with that but instead just get rid of the two sharp u-bends inside in favor of a straighter through design for better flow. James is the designer/expert and could explain it in much greater detail though if I could get him to stop working for 5 seconds

By the sound of it looks like it should make more hp than an x.

See you Monday afternoon!!
