SharkWerks Picks up Kermit MKII 09 PDK 997S
FYI guys... the car's over at Premier Protective Films (a sponsor) getting their paint protection film installed so I'll give you more feedback once we've driven the car of course.
Hey guys so we're off for a sneaky drive on Friday and then down to LA for CEC/TechArt's event on Saturday meaning a lot of miles etc... so luckily we're only around the corner from our friends over at Premier. Thanks again to Sam and his crew for getting our car done and protected with their clear paint protection film. I know most of you in the bay area already know/use them but big props to them. They've covered our RS and some 11K miles later (track, trips to arizona etc...) she looks as good as new. They're a sponsor on here or just go over to www.premiermobilegroup.com
hello, from france and sorry for my english
i have a 997.2 4S since four month and i love it but i think the sound of the engine is too quiet.
but my dealers say carful with exotic exaust because you lost yours garanty and off course he say i must buy the new PSE,but i have never listen the sound off the new PSE ,and i am affraid by the cut off
i think the new PSE is the change of the two secondary muffer and is possible to work with an exotic primary X pipe?
and the last question:the original primary muffler :inside is cross flow totaly separated flow or inside the gaz if each bank is mixed?
thank you and sorry for my english

philippe911...welcome! You english is fine...I can't speak French so you are way ahead of me!
Any exhaust modification you do aftert the cats will not take away your warranty of your car. Porsche dealers sometimes try to say it will so they can sell you a very expensive factory exhaust system but it is not true.

Some dealers are more picky than others and it we've actually sold this bypass to a few dealerships who have installed them on customer cars. Generally the dealerships don't mind exhaust changes if they don't effect the headers or catalytic converters/emissions system (this muffler is after the cats). It'd be hard to correlate this to a failure which would void your warranty, but I'm honestly not sure how Porsche handles this in France.

thanks you mrdums and dan@sharkswerks for your reponse
if i anderstand the X pipe is exactly the same gas road than the stock primary muffler only the exit for the gaz are inverted side of the car?
Xpipe and stock secondary muffler it,s the same sound than an 997.1 PSE for example or more?
thank you

Hey guys just another small update today... James fabbed one of our fire extinguisher bracket and kit set ups to work with our manual sport seats. Not sure what you guys think but if there's enough demand we might make them.

update...
hey fellas just another update as ZTadpol had a very busy last few days
I'll have more for you on the suspension testing but suffice it to say that with another 800miles on the ODO and no noticeable noises etc... A few creaks/groans when going over speed bumps but nothing major.
On the way down to the CEC/TechArt open house in LA (more on that later) we stopped by Stasis again to do some dyno testing on Fabspeed's proto-type intake. Obviously with our car there are some notable differences- we used 91 octane, our ECU is tuned and we have to run in AWD mode with our PDK and on a different dyno too (it was pretty hot at 80-ish). It's very hard to do intake testing on a rear engine car on a dyno because you never really get the same level of airflow as you would on the street. Intake temperatures climbed up and so it wasn't able to use the best ignition map. Either way we did get anywhere from 3-4awhp from it which is about what I'd expect on a tuned 997S PDK car (and the sound is pretty sweet). Jeremy@Fabspeed tells me that the production versions of their kit will be made from carbon fiber and/or plastic so that should help keep intake temps down on a dyno and we'll do some more testing then. Either way here's a couple of runs and we'll retest with a final unit once we get it:

Once down at CEC/TechArt we displayed her as part of the new 09 collection. Really nice facility right in the hear of West LA and it was great to meet some of you 6speeders there and put a face to that screen name.

For those of you interested in the techart aero you can check out the new 09 catalogue (sporting our ZTadpol):

Hey fellas just got our copy of this month's Total 911 magazine (issue 54) which features a seven-page feature on the SharkWerks ZTADPOL project car. Had a really fun day driving the roads around the James Dean Memorial with Mike Febbo (who took some great shots) with our car sporting the full TechArt Aerokit, HRE P43 Monobloks, RSS suspension set up and of course the EVOMSit and SharkWerks exhaust. If you haven't got a copy you can find it online or at a book/magazine store in the next few weeks. Here's where you can get it online:
