For Front Facing rear seats on a 991, which brand and model fits best?
Not sure you will ever find an answer to which "fits best". We keep trying until we find one that works and then we stop. I don't think anyone out there is going to buy 50 car seats to try them all. Check this thread and several others in the "991" forum. There are several that work well. I use a Costo seat. It is LATCH and has a 5 point harness. I have heard from several that the Diono Radian RXT work very well. Well made and solid.

Agree that these fit the best in 991 after trying out different ones, as far as a front facing car seat.

drug delivery will become famous soon enough
Try the Costco seats from Walmart/Sam's Club. I have two of these, slightly different sizes and both fit in my 996. I can't see any difference for fitment in the 991.

On that note, I test drove a C4S a few weeks ago, and when I was leaving someone else was test driving the car and two adult women were in the back. Not sure how much head room they had but they were all giddy and seemed to be enjoying themselves. I guess anyone under 5 feet tall should fit okay, but you'll still probably have to have the front seat more forward than you like. I can't have my child behind me in the 996 unless it's a short trip.

.

I use the Costco seat in the rear of a 991 (forward facing). It is 5 point harness with LATCH. Light weight and works well.

Thanks for the offer and info. Did not know that the size limit was 30 inches. My guy is 26" so probably not a good choice.

So I tried 3 seats in my 991 C4S.

1. Diono Radian RXT. Nice narrow base, but the seat is far too tall as it makes contact with the rear pillar. Does not sit flush at all on the rear portion of the seat.

2. Clek Foonf. Really easy to install with the latch system, I really like this seat, but this
seat is all too tall once the head rest is raised from the lowest position. Narrow base also. Sits nice and flush though, but too tall.

3 Britax Marathon. To my surprise, this is the seat that fits the best, you can raise the headrest properly, and it makes the least contact with the rear pillar. I was very surprised this seat fit as well as it did.

My son is 2.5, 30lbs.

Does the front seat need to be pushed all the way forward?

Pretty much, and the seat back has to be at a sharp angle. You don't want anyting to come in contact with your kids legs or feet in case of a accident.

My son loves being in the car though.

I have tried with most seats in the rear. I have to say the Cosco fits the 991 the best. It is not the best construction but does the job. Depending on the size of kid the front seat has to be pushed forward but not all the way.

We recently went on a 6 hour journey from NVA to NJ with not too much trouble. For the long journeys the road noise is a little annoying towards the end... But other than that it was a very pleasant trip.

Cool my 7 year old loves the car also... I am just trying to get my 20 month old in there also...

I have always bought britax seats. I dont think I have the marathon. We have the Boulevard, and a couple frontiers. Do you know if the bottom of the Marathon is different than the boulevard?
