Center radiator

Has anyone added the center radiator after the fact?? I like the look of the center bumper being open.
Any risk just getting the open duck with a grill on it? Too much air going into the bumper?
Any up close pics of those with the Power Kit and Sport Design bumper would be appreciated!
Thanks.

Pretty much wanted to open up and possibly put mesh over the center Sport Design bumper opening.
If I just got the vented bumper trim without the radiator, I would think it would be bad aerodynamics with all the wind being pushed behind the bumper. I assume the radiator serves some purpose deflecting wind like the current cap?
A third radiator can't hurt, but any benefit for mostly street driving? Prob not unless in Arizona?

On my JCW mini, I had a Garmin Ecoroute plugged into the OBDII. According to it, the air going through the manifold was only 3 degrees hotter than the out side air temp. This diff. was the same whether I was here in Seattle in the rain or doing 90mph in 117 degree heat in Laughlin Nv. Still only 3 degree difference. I bring this up in reference to the Fabspeed air intake and whether it would be sucking warmer air than the factory intake. Let me run this next thought past you, am I calculating wrong? One gallon is 3.785 liter, the displacement of our engines. So , for every 2 revolutions of the engine one gallon of air is ingested. At 5000RPM that would be 2500 gallons of air per minute going through the intake and engine, 7000RPM would be 3500 gallons per min. At that volume per min. I would think the air is moving through the engine area too fast to heat soak, the reason, I surmise, that my JCW showed only a 3 degree increase. Does this sound right to you guys? Is either my thinking or my math wrong? I saw a Porsche here at the XXX Rootbeer get together that had the Fabspeed intake and it "looked" really nice, but would be so so easy to do maintainance. Also, if it is less restrictive, could it in fact, ever so slightly. run cooler than factory intake?

Serge had it installed. See post #1364 here: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ournal-91.html
Thanks. I'll check it out.

If you look at the pictures of when you have the front bumper off, it looks like the air diverts down anyway so my guess is it is not much different than having the third radiator. Although I suspect there might be a risk of some kind of air noise, that could be dealt with fairly easily I suppose with some redneck engineering.
Personally, I haven't seen much need for the third radiator, haven't had any temp problems even when going through some mountain passes when it was warm.. Then again I'm in socal and while it's warm it's nothing like AZ or the middle east.
So if I were to go that way for aesthetic reasons, I'd probably just put the grill on.

I decided to get the center radiator and look like a power kit guy (or poser)!
Easy install and not too expensive. All the hook ups are already there, and the new center trim comes as a kit. Pretty much a bolt on product.

On the 997.2 third radiator install, a template is provided to locate the air exhaust holes that must be cut into the bottom horizontal surface of the bumper skin, behind the radiator. Isn't this also true of the 991?

Does anyone have a Carrera Power kit option that hasa center radiator? How does it change the appearance of the front?
I love my 2013 C4S that I just got a week ago, but the center plastic part of the front bumper just doesn't look good to me. I'm wondering if there is a center radiator kit that I can install to change that appearance as well as maybe get added benefit of having my engine run cooler?
Thanks.

If anyone has the Sport Design bumper with the center radiator (power kit guys) on a C2S please let me know. I'm having an issue locating some part numbers and looking at your build by VIN would solve the puzzle.
