Back in the market for 993 C2S
All,
I've been flip flopping between three different models of Porsches, all at different price points. While I'm in the 993 mode, I'm trying to find a mid-mile excellent condition, properly serviced C2S. I'd prefer to buy from an enthusiast. I've looked on Rennlist, and scanned the trades. If any of you have a lead, let me know. Silver, White, Dark Blue preferred. I'll take as many options as possible. Want motorsound, twists, suspension would be nice, gauges, etc. Looking to spend high 40s or low 50s, but no higher. From my research, I think this is very feasible. Also, I'm looking for advice on what to watch out for when buying these cars. Does anybody have a good 993 mechanic in LA?

I've found one but now I'm shying away from higher mile cars. So if any of you have a nice lower mile (30-50K) example, clean, serviced, etc., give me a ring. I'm itching to buy. Soon. Please send solid leads my way !!!

Buy on condition as opposed to color preferences and/or options. Those can be added later like wheels and the MotorSound.

Hey Bobby G - here's a good lead for ya! In fact its mine, and I just posted this a couple days ago on Rennlist (member section). Let me know what you think. Its not your first choice of color, and is a couple thousand miles more than requested, but it sure is nice. Below is the add I posted...
I am making my 98 911 available, albeit reluctantly. I bought it about 2 years ago, and its been great, but time for something different. Check out the specs and photos below, and please feel free to inquire by calling me at 561-271-5618. For Sale 1998 Porsche 911 C2S VIN: WPOAA2994WS320532 Miles: ~60900 Option Codes: M159 ENGINE SOUND PACKAGE M329 RADIO BLAUPUNKT "PORSCHE CD-210" M408 18" TECHNO WHEEL M437 COMFORT SEAT LEFT ELECTRICALLY ADJUSTABLE M446 CONCAVE HUB CAPE WITH COLOURED ESCUTCHEON M454 AUTOMATIC SPEED CONTROL M490 SOUND SYSTEM M650 ELECTRICAL SLIDING ROOF M692 CD-CHANGER "PORSCHE" The above codes represent the original build, but below are the modifications I have done, or by the previous owner: Previous owner installed the factory front and rear TURBO S spoilers, H&R lowering springs. There has been an upgraded stereo and amp put in too, but that could be put back to stock for the buyer. I have installed Xenon lights, DACH X-pipe cat by-pass, LPMM muffler mod, Aluminum door sills, DiTec paint preservation. The paint is all original and in very good condition, except for the front bumper which has a small repaint and fix history. Asking price: $52900 USD OBO Thanks for looking - Bryan |

Well - I lost out on the one that I mentioned in other posts. A combination of not being readily able to meet on price and me not able to travel to see it because of my darn work schedule. Oh well.
Bryan, thanks, but I think your price is a little high based on selling prices I've seen during my hunt. Pretty car, though. If anybody else knows of one, I'd appreciate the reference.

BobbyG,
Don't be afraid of mileage. As long as the car has had it's maintenance you should be ok. Consider that at 80k these cars usually require a clutch & flywheel on top of service. If you get one that has had the clutch and flywheel done recently it's almost the same as buying a low mile car.
