GT2 Values?
#32
crazy how fast the market is moving up! might be the same car you saw...not to many 2005's...
Unfortunately the ad has been deleted, I normally take snapshots to remember, and contact the P.O. (which I will likely do again here..)
Keep driving 'er!
Keep it or bump that price up to make it worth while!
Agree
I occasionally 'think' about putting mine up to feel the market at these new price levels, then I go for a drive and the notion ALWAYS goes away...
I'd put it back to stock(or near stock) if you list it, but keep the goodies as optional extras...or sell them to me
miss seeing pics of old white...how has the toy hunt been Henry?
Mostly agree, mild bolt-ons don't seem to really affect GT2 values too much if any...but big engine/turbo builds/'extreme' mods do

I posted a feeler on Rennlist at $97k and have received solid interest if I want to pull the trigger. I have seen yours and think the Carfax issue may be the main detractor but if you were looking to get $89k it should be gone. I have to make up my mind but after driving this past weekend my choice got a little harder. It is a lot of fun and a ton of car.
I wonder how much the mods will hurt the value if it skyrockets. I have most of my original parts, so I could change it back, but I like to think people might want the Moton suspension, Sequential shifter, GMG X-pipe, and fire suppression system to name a few. What are your thoughts on mods hurting the value? Sorry to threadjack.

i just find it astonishing how the values of these are climbing precipitously. any of you that can hold will have a mind boggling asset soon enough.
the irony for me is that for the extra 40 i could've also joined that more exclusive club. so as it is, i have a car that'll keep up with most any gt2, that is worth 30 while 30 will buy you a mere portion of a low mileage gt2 specimen.
talk about an appreciating asset!? you guys did great! i've lost my a** LOL but have a lot of fun regardless. i'll just never see a dime hah!

I guess he'll be fine, 993 GT2 are big numbers also...

A lot[?] of us bought in a long time ago when they seemed awfully expensive. Watching prices decline so much hurt but it was never about the money and we accepted the loss in exchange for the unique driving pleasure. Who knows what we will wake up to tomorrow? Greece takes a dump, Russia gets a little too nuts, whatever... There is no upside if you sell and can't afford to replace it... big money or not, it is the car and enjoying them that counts.

very good points. the main difference is with a 96turbo the upside will be minimal and commensurate always with the numbers produced. whereas you guys lucky enough to have those 996gt2's KNOW the upside will be tremendous. it's whether one has the patience to wait and not drive the hell out of it in the interim, while you wait for this coming and certain uptick in price(s).
that kinda takes rob out of the equation lol. but he'll do ok too

lol Mark, I'm trying to behave-only at 42k miles (why I need (lol) another toy to avoid throwing 'heavy' miles on the GT2 so quickly)...plus I can prove mine is clean/no stories/original paint(besides the front bumper cap)/straight-underneath/maintenance records, which is what I point out to those who reach out to me about GT2's.., mileage and tire shine isn't the big player for GT2's; clean bodyshells without accidents/floods/weird repaints are the cars leading the market.
What I'm finding odd is, where have all the less-then-average/storied GT2's gone? Used to always be some publicly for sale a year or two+ ago. Are these cars out being used and enjoyed(as they should!) or are they being 'retouched' and being up-sold/hiding history?
Another way I'll look at it, get out and enjoy them, treat them well. Being very limited production, the loved/cared-for cars will always stand-out...
Point 2, if there's no car to 'upgrade' to, why sell at 'any' price?
Cheers,
Rob

dude your car is sick! I couldn't help but drive it, but then I don't see these as an investment. just a "toy" but I also don't have a gt2, just a faux gt2 LOL
I just might garage the gt2 if it had it and buy a tt to tear up.
