Any backpressure measurements on the various setups? Curious as to how that looked!

Yes setup 2 and 3 had BP. It looked the way you would expect given the results.

Been moving forward slowly - but now putting the engine together.
Wanted to share pics of the ported heads.

The valve seats on these heads has been machined twice and trying to find how much higher the valve stem top is now poistioned.
For that I need the measurement from a stock head (untouched seats).
So if one of you guys knows or can measure the valve stem height above spring base / deck - that would be much appreciated!
Then I have something to compare my current height with ;-)

Looks good. Did they match the intake runner to the ports? You should have that head surfaced as well.

Yes, Intake runners have been matched to the ports but not with this nice CNC finish and golfball surface ;-)

The porting was done by a CNC engine specialist in Germany.
Just now debating with them about some things that was not ok and had to be redone/machined locally here after receiving the heads back.
So depending on how they tackle that I can or cannot recommend them ;-)

Can any of you Guys let me know stock valve stem height above spring base/deck.
Anyone with a standard head taken apart that can measure?
Or measured on previous rebuild?

Surprised that no-one is able to help with that Measurement.
Surely someone has a stock head lying around and can use 5 mins helping a Fellow enthusiast ;-)

Need to know valve stem height above spring base/deck.
So valve in head without spring, valve seated/closed, measure from top of valve stem to base/deck below springs. Should be around 44/46mm for intake/exhaust.

Update:
Engine is back together, on a pallet, just finishing up a few hoses and wires before the engine goes back in.
Will soon post lots of pics of the setup.

This is what I ended up with:
SRM 7163 turbos
Ported stock manifolds - weldings moved to the outside
Kline exhaust, 100 cel cats, pre-cat cutouts, opens with boost or by press of a button in cabin
12mm studs
Carillo rods
Stock pistons with new Mahle rings
CNC ported heads
Upgrade intake and exhaust cams
IPD plenum with 74mm throttle body
SRM billet Y-pipe (with custom legs for future air filter plans)
Wagner Evo2 intercoolers
Cobb 1000cc injectors (modified to seat lower)
Walbro 455 lph pump
AN8 fuel feed line with check valve and filter positioned next to gearbox (stock return)
Filters on turbos
EGR delete - cut off and welded the whole EGR console on the intake runner
Welded coolant fittings

looking forward to fire up this engine :-)
Debating if I should use the stock boost control solenoid (N75) to control boost or use the solenoids on the EFR turbos.
Comes down to running hoses OR wires down to the turbos.
I have prepared both so will probably try both options to see if any difference.

what cams did you go with, do you know the specs and what it should do to the powerband?

Those of you running RS single mass flywheel - how have you adjusted your crank position sender?
Without any machining / adjustment the gap seems to be around 1,25mm with the RS flywheel..
We need gap around 0,8mm right.. So need to be closed down a little.
Cant adjust gap by moving the bracket but thinking of maybe machining off 0,4mm from the seating surface on the bracket. To bring sensor 0,4mm closer to the flywheel..

I've never heard of anyone doing this or having any issues when going to a light weight fw so I guess it works fine a little farther back. I run stock

OEM RS flywheel = bolt on and go. No adjustment needed

Well I didnt want to take any chances so drilled out the old bolts holding the bracket (they where the type where the head snaps off when tightening).
I then tightened down with new bolts and had enough play in the boltholes to gap the sensor to 0,8mm.
Worthwhile doing before mounting gearbox and putting everything back in the car..

Better safe than sorry I suppose. Have you taken any pics of the build process at all? I put some miles on my DIY motor this week and everything seems to be good so far.
