Do you have the Sport seats in it? Change the seats you will feel a World of Difference. What tires are you running?
As for Parking lots, yea thats a gamble. I have the wort luck so i dont bother, i can park in a empty lot and have a bone head bark next to me or have some bunch of kids come around the car and take pictures next to it with there hands on it.
All in all its a car nothing more. But i agree with you the money you spend would be better off spending it on Property.

Love to
I love driving mine! I have a 2003 C4S and love her, I even love looking at her in the garage I only use her on weekends and every once and a while on Fridays, but she's a blast to drive. Just my 2 cents

Ha! I disagree with your entire first post...other than tracking the 911 which I have never done.
It is comfortable (I'm 6'1" 260lbs), I love the road feel you get & I'm sitting on stock 18" wheels with 1" lowered H&R Springs. The ride isn't jarring or rough like other comparable sport coupes.
I love the exhaust note and the rumble of the engine at any speed, I turn off the radio at times just to listen to it.
I look forward to driving now...to absolutely nowhere.
I love the thumbs up and positive attention I get from nearly everyone on the road.
I think it is fairly practical. Driving responsibly I get around 26-28MPG highway and 20-21 city.
Has plenty of storage space for the things I need. (On a recent shooting outing got 5 pistols, 5 long rifles and enough ammo to start a war to fit and an extra passenger)
A/C blows cold and is comfortable.
Just yesterday I wizzed by an older gentleman in a cadillac DTS, at the next stop light he got my attention and gave me a thumbs up!
The styling is classic, sexy...I'm always checking out my car and still sometimes can not believe it is MINE.
Yes, I'm a 911 fan boy for life.

The car is stiff when you lower it and it will always drag the belly pan on dips and driveways if you're not careful causing a big cringe, but that's half the fun... Mine's loud and fast and a great escape on the weekends.

Well its all in your perspective... I drive my 996 C4S everyday, its my only car, but it works for me. I drive it like a sane human being in traffic, and when I find the opportunity usually a couple times a week l run the car thru the paces for a bit, lots of interchange ramps in san diego.
But the practicality has been a concern, I have a wife and an 11 year old son, My wifes car is a 2011 MX5... so if the 3 of us want to go anywhere, we go in the C4S. But I LOVE my car... so I am looking into buying a relatively cheap under $5k used 4 door car or wagon for the practicality issue.
I have a friend who drives a 997 GT3 daily, and I commend him, its ALL in what YOU like. Best of luck.

Seems to me the OP might be a good candidate for the new 991... more a sports limo than a real white knuckle sports car (but do get that A/C repaired). I loved my C2 and my 996 TT, with 19 inch rides hard but that's what floats my boat. I did have to pull my LOUD exhaust off though and replace with the standard OEM version which made all the difference in driving at legal speeds :-)
