Oil...

I know "what oil is best" has been beaten to death but I found this and thought it was interesting and good info. It lists "approved" oils for cars. Interestingly enough M1 is not the only Porsche approved oil. Also, they explain the difference between "approved" and "meets or exceeds."
If anyone has a newer list or info would you be so kind as to post it.

Porsche regularly updates their list of approved oils. You can get this information from your dealer, or in the TSB section of www.renntech.org if you are a paying member.

Interestingly, Mobil 1 remains an approved oil even though their formulatin has gone through some significant changes. Personally, I'm not using it in my C4S or my Cayenne. I've started using Schaeffer Supreme 9000.

I read of the Mobil 1 changes specifically in 5w-40 weight. Decided to go for Pennzoil Euro spec 5w-40 due to that.
